Phoebe let out a mocking laugh. “Who do you think you are? I’m not going anywhere with you.”

Since they had already torn all pretenses apart last time, there was no need to keep up appearances anymore.

“This isn’t up to you.” Declan grabbed Phoebe’s wrist and started pulling her outside.

He had only taken two steps when a sharp pain shot through the back of his neck. The next second, everything went black, and he collapsed.

Phoebe called Patrick and told him to come pick Declan up. Then, she took off the necklace around her neck, threw it onto him, and turned around without hesitation, slamming the villa door shut.

Half an hour later, the sound of a car engine came from outside.

Phoebe lifted a corner of the curtain and glanced outside. Patrick had just stepped out of the car and was now helping Declan away.

The soreness in his neck made him frown instinctively. Looking at Patrick, who stood nearby, he asked, “What happened? Why am I here?”

Patrick gave Declan a sympathetic glance, lowered his head, and carefully said, “Mr. Richardson, you went to see Ms. Greene, and then Ms. Greene knocked you out. Do you not remember?”

Declan’s face instantly darkened. The next moment, when he saw the necklace Patrick handed over, his expression turned even colder.

“Mr. Richardson, I saw this next to you when I came to pick you up,” Patrick explained.

A flash of anger crossed Declan’s eyes, and he said icily, “It’s yours now.”

Patrick knew Declan was still furious, so he didn’t say anything. Instead, he silently took the necklace, planning to return it to Declan once he had calmed down.

This was the wedding anniversary gift Declan had prepared for Phoebe. There was no way Patrick would dare to keep it.

Seeing Patrick remain silent, Declan shot him a cold look. “You can leave now.”

“Yes, Mr. Richardson. If you need anything, just give me a call,” Patrick replied.

After Patrick left, the living room fell into silence.

Declan pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling like he must have lost his mind to go looking for Phoebe today.

The thought of the disgust in Phoebe’s eyes and how she had knocked him out without hesitation made his anger rise uncontrollably.

Buzz. His phone suddenly rang.

Upon seeing Ian’s name on the screen, a hint of surprise flickered in Declan’s eyes. “What is it?”

Ian cleared his throat and said, “Declan, you and Scott had some conflict before because of Bianca, right?”

Declan frowned slightly, his tone turning colder. “What about it?”

lan continued, “Marcus and I scolded Scott after we found out about it. He knows he was wrong, so he wants to make it up to you. He’s inviting us to the opening of Wright Group’s new resort as a way to ease tensions.”

Before lan could finish, Declan cut him off coldly. “I don’t have time.”

“Just hear me out. Besides you, Scott also plans to invite Phoebe. If you don’t go, she definitely won’t either, Ian added.

Upon thinking of Phoebe’s attitude toward him tonight, Declan’s eyes turned icy. “Whether she goes or not is Scott’s problem. It has nothing to do with me.”

lan wanted to say more, but Declan had already hung up.

lan put down his phone while Scott hurriedly asked, “Well? Did Declan agree?”

“No. He’s probably still mad about what happened before.” Ian shook his head.

A flash of disappointment crossed Scott’s eyes. Suddenly, he stood up and said, “I’ll go apologize to him in person.”

Ian quickly pulled him back. “No rush. There’s still a way. Declan listens to Mrs. Richardson the most, and I heard Phoebe has a good relationship with her. Maybe we can try working from that angle.”

Nearby, Bianca watched them whispering to each other, her eyes filled with resentment and anger. She had suffered such humiliation, yet now Scott was trying to appease Declan and Phoebe.

‘No. I refuse to let Phoebe be so smug. I have to do something,‘ she wondered.

Bianca picked up her phone, sneered, and sent a message to Jennifer.
