Regretful CEO Ex-Wife Don't Leave Me novel Chapter 66

Chapter 66

The next morning, Phoebe received a call from Audrey.

Pheebs, I got an invitation from a friend to go to a resort this weekend. Are you free? Do you want to come with me? I heard there’s horseback riding and even an amusement park,Audrey said.

Audrey originally had no plans to go, but when she heard about the activities, she thought it would be a good chance to help Phoebe relax. She also figured she could invite Declan along. Maybe it would help mend their relationship.

Phoebe was a little surprised. She thought about it and realized she had no plans for the weekend, so she agreed. Sure. Should I pick you up, or should we just meet at the resort?

I’ll come to the villa and pick you up,Audrey said.

Phoebe hesitated for a few seconds before speaking. Mrs. Richardson, actually, I’m living in Northern District now.

Audrey frowned. You and Declan are living apart?

Phoebe was unsure how to explain their current situation, so she gave a vague response. Not exactly. This place is just closer to my company, so I decided to stay here.

That’s ridiculous. A married couple shouldn’t be living apart. Now that Jennifer is back, what if she takes advantage of the situation while you’re not there?Audrey said.

Phoebe pressed her lips together and spoke softly. Mrs. Richardson, please don’t worry about this. Declan and I will handle it.

If you two could really handle it, you wouldn’t be living separately. I’m calling Declan. If he doesn’t bring you back to Grandview Villa soon, I won’t let him off the hook.” Audrey was furious.

Mrs. Richardson, no need-Before Phoebe could finish, Audrey had already hung up.

When Phoebe tried calling back, the line was busy. Clearly, Audrey was already talking to Declan. She let out a helpless sigh, set her phone aside, and went to freshen up.

By the time she was ready to leave for work, she noticed several messages from Declan.

Declan: [Phoebe, what did you tell Grandma about Jennie?]

Declan: [Grandma already didn’t like Jennie, and now that she knows you moved out, she just threatened that if I don’t bring you back to Grandview Villa, she won’t let Jennie off.]

Declan: [What kind of spell did you cast on Grandma to make her take your side no matter what? I even told her it was your decision to move out, but she refused to believe me.]

Phoebe stared at Declan’s messages, her expression unreadable. Without replying, she deleted them and left for work.

The weekend arrived quickly, and Phoebe had already packed her things, waiting for Audrey to come pick her up.

To her surprise, the car parked outside the villa was Declan’s. She hesitated for a moment before pulling open the backseat door, intending to get in.

Sit in the front,Declan said.

Phoebe glanced at him in the driver’s seat and replied indifferently, I’ll sit in the back. I can chat with Mrs. Richardson.Audrey, eager to mend their relationship, interjected, Pheebs, my friend will be sitting in the back later. Three people in the

backseat would be too cramped. Just sit in the front.”

Phoebe had no choice but to move to the passenger seat.

If I had known Declan was coming, I would have refused Mrs. Richardson’s invitation, she thought.

As soon as she sat down, Declan suddenly leaned toward her.

Startled, Phoebe instinctively shrank back, hitting her forehead against the window with a dull thud.

She frowned and looked at him warily. What are you doing?

Declan’s expression was cold. Fastening your seatbelt.”

No need. I can do it myself,Phoebe said.

Seeing that she had buckled up, Declan said nothing more, but his expression grew even colder.

Audrey watched from behind, full of concern. It was clear that the conflict between them was quite serious.
