Phoebe abruptly turned around and stared coldly at Declan. “What are you trying to say?”

“As long as you have dinner with me, I will give that collaboration to the Greene family,” Declan said.

Phoebe locked eyes with him for a moment before suddenly laughing. “Mr. Richardson, are you joking? If all it takes is having dinner with you to secure a partnership, then the Greene family is getting quite the bargain, aren’t they?*

Declan’s gaze remained cold. He could sense there was more to Phoebe’s words.

Sure enough, the next second, the smile on her face turned mocking. “In that case, every member of the Greene family would be eager to have this meal with you. Why not invite them instead?”

Without waiting for a response, Phoebe pushed open the car door and got out. Declan’s eyes darkened as he watched her walk away. “Phoebe, if Cora keeps pressing Bianca, she will corner Scott. She won’t come out of this unscathed.”

Phoebe hesitated and could not hold back. She turned around and glared at Declan. “So what? Just because Cora and I are not as powerful as Scott, Bianca can trample all over us? And we don’t even have the right to fight back?”

Declan remained silent for a moment before speaking. “There is a peaceful way to resolve this. Why must you insist on making it a war?”

Phoebe took a deep breath and fixed her gaze on him. “You want a peaceful resolution because Scott is your friend. I do not mind you siding with him, but don’t try to force your beliefs onto me.”

Declan found her unreasonable. “Phoebe, Scott is willing to compensate for the dress, and both he and Bianca are willing to apologize. Why do you insist on escalating this?”

Phoebe had spent a month designing that dress, eagerly anticipating how beautiful Cora would look in it.

Bianca cheated with Cora’s boyfriend and flaunted herself in that very dress, only to deliberately ruin it. Phoebe could not swallow this humiliation.

“If it had been Jennifer’s dress that was deliberately destroyed, would you still be so calm and say these things to me?” Phoebe asked.

Declan fell silent. Seeing his reaction, Phoebe smiled bitterly. “Compared to Jennifer, I mean nothing to you. Declan, just because I used to like you, does that mean you can hurt me without restraint?”

Phoebe repeatedly emphasized that she no longer had feelings for him. His expression turned icy, and a surge of anger welled up inside him. “What exactly do you want?”

Phoebe looked at him coldly, her eyes filled with disappointment. She began to question why she had ever liked Declan in the first place.

“You should be asking Cora, not me,” Phoebe said before turning around and walking away.

That night, Phoebe returned to her villa in the Northern District. From then on, she and Declan officially entered a state of cold detachment.

For Phoebe; life remained largely unchanged. Staying away from Declan significantly improved her mood.

A week later, Cora came to see her. “Pheebs, Scott’s secretary reached out to me. Scott and Bianca want to make peace. Bianca is willing to apologize.”

Seeing Cora’s conflicted expression, Phoebe smiled. “And how do you feel about that?”

“At first, all I wanted was for Bianca to apologize,” Cora admitted.

Phoebe nodded. “Okay, then do what feels right to you. But do not forgive her too easily. Make sure she remembers this lesson well.”

“Okay. I have already decided. I want her to apologize to me on the biggest billboard in Roseberg.” Cora smiled.

“That works. I support you,” Phoebe said.

Getting Phoebe’s support, Cora finally breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at Phoebe with a trace of guilt. “You spent so much time designing Heart’s Whisper for me. It’s such a shame that it was ruined. If only I had been more careful.”

Phoebe pressed her lips together, her expression calm. “Bianca wore Heart’s Whisper. Even if you took it back, would you still feel comfortable wearing it? Now that she destroyed it, she owes compensation. At least our loss is somewhat reduced.”

“I still feel terrible. You poured so much love into that dress,” Cora said.

“If you feel that bad, buy me dinner,” Phoebe replied.
