After Cora left, Phoebe was about to dive into work when her phone rang.

She answered it and heard Serene’s commanding voice. “Phoebe, Declan has already signed the divorce papers. Come to my house and get it.”
Phoebe frowned and wondered, ‘Just yesterday, he was dead set against it, and he just signed it now?
“He really signed it?” Pheobe asked.
Serene paused for a moment before replying, “What, you think I’m lying? You don’t actually believe Declan can’t live without you, do you?”
Phoebe pressed her lips together and then said, “Alright. I’ll be there soon.”
After hanging up, Jennifer, who sat beside Serene, hesitated before speaking, “Mrs. Richardson, are we really doing the right thing? If Deck finds out, he’s definitely going to be furious.”
Serene’s eyes were icy. “You don’t need to worry about that. Once he and Phoebe are officially divorced, even if he gets mad, what can he do? I’m his mother. He’s not going to cut me off.”
Last night, Serene had called Matthew home and exaggerated the whole “Phoebe flirting with a male host” situation, hoping he’d pressure Declan into divorcing Pheobe. But instead of taking her side, Matthew scolded Serene, saying this was between Declan and Phoebe and she should not interfere.
Serene had been so angry that she barely slept. She was sure of one thing–she wasn’t going to let that shameless woman stay by Declan’s side any longer.
Half an hour later, Phoebe stepped into the house where Serene stayed.
Serene and Jennifer had been laughing over something, but the moment they saw her, their smiles vanished.
Serene lifted her chin, looking down at Pheobe with disdain. “The divorce papers are on the table. Once you sign, you’ll have nothing to do with Declan ever again.”
Without a word, Phoebe walked over, flipped to the last page, and saw Declan’s signature.
She picked up a pen but glanced at Serene again, just to confirm. “This is really his signature? It’s valid, right?”
Serene let out a mocking laugh. “Of course, I have no reason to fake it.”
“Good,” Pheobe replied curtly.
Seeing Phoebe sign her name without hesitation, Serene felt a little uncomfortable. She thought to herself, ‘Shouldn’t she be hesitating and looking reluctant? Why does it seem like she’s relieved to get rid of Declan?’
To avoid any complications, Phoebe said, “I’ll take this to the lawyer right now to get it notarized.”
Serene immediately snapped, “I’m coming with you. I don’t want any tricks to be pulled.”
Phoebe didn’t argue. “Fine.”
As they stepped outside the house, Serene’s gaze landed on the Lamborghini parked at the entrance. She asked with a frown, “Declan bought you that car? Since you’re getting divorced, you can’t take it with you.”
Phoebe nearly laughed upon hearing her outrageous remarks. The car was hers, and even if Declan bought it for her, she didn’t think it was a big deal to have a gift from him after spending three years as his wife.

Chapter 42
Beside her, Jennifer’s eyes were practically burning with jealousy as she glared at Phoebe. She chimed in, “Yeah, Pheebs you’re not planning to take advantage of Deck even after divorcing him, are you?”
Jennifer thought bitterly, Once I marry Declan, his money will be mine. I can’t let Phoebe walk away with anything
Phoebe shot them both a cold glance, her tone indifferent. “Hate to disappoint you, but this car has nothing to do with Declan. See you guys at the courthouse soon.”
Without another word, Pheobe got in the car and sped off, leaving Serene and Jennifer coughing in the dust.
At the courthouse, Phoebe waited for over an hour, but Serene and Jennifer still hadn’t shown up.
Annoyance flickered in her eyes, and she decided to get this notarized herself.
Just as she stepped out of her car, a black Maybach pulled up in front of her. Phoebe’s grip on the divorce papers tightened instinctively, her pulse quickening.
A second later, the back door swung open. Declan stepped out, his expression ice–cold, with storm clouds brewing in his gaze as he strode toward her.
