Hearing Serene’s authoritative tone, Phoebe‘ remained indifferent and replied, “Sorry, I have things to do. I think Jennifer can help you.”
With that, she left without looking back.
Serene was absolutely fuming, her gaze fixed coldly on Phoebe’s figure. Gritting her teeth, she spat, “That brat, I should’ve never let her marry Declan.”
Jennifer, standing beside Serene, put on a gentle, appeasing tone. “Mrs. Richardson, please don’t be mad. That’s just how Pheebs talks, but she doesn’t mean anything by it.”
The words only made Serene’s expression darken further. She pursed her lips, clearly annoyed.
Jennifer hesitated, as if debating whether to speak, before finally lowering her voice and whispering, “Mrs. Richardson… there’s actually something… I think you should know. It’s about Pheebs… but I’m not sure if I should say.”
Serene replied, “Go ahead.”
Jennifer bit her lip and stammered, “Pheebs was spotted at a bar recently… flirting with a male host. Someone caught it on camera, and at my grandfather’s birthday party, the footage got played on the big screen. Most of Roseberg’s elite were there, and they all saw it.”
Serene’s face twisted in a mix of rage and disbelief. She spat, “She actually had the nerve to do that?”
Jennifer nodded, looking pained. “I have no idea why she’d do something like that. And Deck… he actually stood up for her in front of everyone… and even announced their marriage just to cover for her.”
Serene’s expression turned stormy. She had never approved of Phoebe to begin with, and now, hearing that Pheobe flirted with others and humiliated Declan, Serene couldn’t hold back her fury at all.
Serene wasn’t in the mood for shopping anymore, and she said, “Jennie, I need to take care of something. Let’s have a rain check. Come by and visit me when you’re free.”
“Of course, Mrs. Richardson. Just please don’t tell anyone I told you. If Pheebs finds out, she’ll think I’m badmouthing her on purpose,” Jennifer said with a pout.
Serene squeezed her hand and said reassuringly, “Don’t worry, Jennie. I won’t get you involved in this.”
As Serene hurried off, Jennifer showed a satisfied smirk.
Phoebe had just picked up Cora’s dress and was walking out of the mall when her phone rang. She answered it, and Declan’s ice–cold voice came through. “Where are you?”
“Just leaving Zephyro Plaza. Why?” she asked.
“Stay there. I’ll be there in thirty minutes,” said Declan.
Before she could ask what was going on, he hung up.
Less than half an hour later, Declan’s car pulled up in front of her. Noticing he was driving himself today, Phoebe placed the dress in the backseat before sliding into the passenger side.
After she buckled the seatbelt, she asked, “What’s the urgency?”
Declan started the car and replied, his eyes frosty. “Cleaning up the mess you made with that male host.”

She had met Serene and Jennifer just a while ago, and his family already knew the mess about the video. She couldn’t help. but let out a chuckle.
The moment they stepped into the living room, Serene was already seated on the couch, her entire demeanor cold and rigid. The look she shot Phoebe was practically venomous, as if she were seconds away from slapping her across the face. Serene cut straight to the point. “Declan, I heard Phoebe went to a bar and flirted with a male host. Is that true?”
Declan’s expression remained unreadable, his voice just as cold. “Who told you the nonsense?”
Serene slammed her cup onto the table with a loud thud, her face dark with anger. “Does it matter who told me? What matters is whether it’s true or not.”
Just as Declan was about to deny it, Phoebe spoke up, “Yeah, it’s true. But I’m guessing that’s not the only reason you get us here, right?
Serene had already done her digging before they arrived. She watched the footage and confirmed every detail. She had been so enraged that she had nearly lost her breath.
Serene looked at Pheobe with disgust and spat, “At least you’re not lying. But yes, there’s something else I wanna say.”
Phoebe stayed silent, waiting for her real intention to be revealed.
Serene continued, “You are never a match for Declan. After three years, you haven’t even had a child. And now, you even humiliate him like this. Our family won’t tolerate this disgrace. You and Declan must get a divorce.”
