The Real Legacy Was Heartbreak novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Seeing Raymond about to leave, Kaylani quickly covered her stomach and pretended to be in pain, wailing, “Oh, my stomach hurts so

much…”

Raymond stopped in his tracks and turned to see Kaylani, pale and curled up in bed, urgently calling for a doctor.

After some rescue efforts, Kaylani finally calmed down. The doctor told Raymond with difficulty, “The patient’s stomach was severely hit and injured, she may not be able to conceive in the future.”

Kaylani’s eyes welled up with tears as she grabbed Raymond’s hand and choked out, “Raymond, this can’t be true, right? I can definitely get pregnant again. We promised to have two children and be a happy family of four.”

Raymond was heartbroken and held her in his arms, comforting her softly, “Kaylani, don’t be afraid. I will definitely find a way to help you recover, and even if you can’t have children, as long as you are by my side, we can still be happy together for the rest of our lives.”

At this moment, one of Raymond’s subordinates walked in and respectfully said, “Mr. Hibben, the car is ready. Shall we leave now to go to the police station to see Valerie?”

Hearing the familiar name, Raymond instantly became angry and snapped, “Don’t mention her to me. If it weren’t for her, Kaylani wouldn’t have had a miscarriage, and wouldn’t have ended up unable

to conceive. Let her stay in prison and fend for herself!”

With the goal achieved, Kaylani smirked triumphantly.

As long as she was around, Valerie never wanted to take half of Raymond’s attention away.

In the following days, Raymond stayed by Kaylani’s side, taking care of her daily needs.
