The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1413

Villa One, Dawnspire Heights Estate.

The golden sun bathed the garden, and a gentle fragrance filled the air.

Every tree, every flower, and every pavilion looked exactly like the first time they met.

But the smiles and laughter from back then ... were gone, distant like another life.

Robin ignored all the curious stares and eager questions. With a single stride, he was up the stairs to the second floor.

He pushed open the bedroom door and rushed to Shirley's bedside.

There she lay, still unconscious, her delicate figure almost too still—too quiet. A sharp ache pierced his chest.

The others followed, holding their breath as they watched.

Robin scooped Shirley into his arms and retrieved three Bloodshade Fruits from the firebird pendant. Carefully, he placed them one by one into her mouth.

A faint wisp of spirit emerged, dancing in the air before drifting into her nose.

"Robin!"

Moments later, Shirley murmured his name.

"She's waking up!" Brenda rushed to his side, eyes wide with disbelief as Shirley's eyes slowly opened.

Robin trembled.

He knew that single strand of spirit would only awaken her. Her memories—the life they had—would not return.

"Who are you? Let me go!" Shirley pushed Robin away, panic flooding her face as she stared wildly at the strangers crowding the room.

Robin stood there, willing some miracle to happen. "Shirley, it's me. I'm Robin."

"You liar! Get away from me! Get out, get out!" Shirley leapt from the bed, her bare feet hitting the cold floor as she clawed and kicked at him.

"Alright, alright—Shirley, calm down. I'll go. Just ... just rest." Robin quickly stepped back, gesturing for everyone to leave.

"Shirley, it's me, Brenda. Can I stay with you?" Brenda cautiously approached, her voice soft and pleading.

Shirley stared at her for a long moment. Then, tears welled up and spilled down her cheeks. "Where's Robin? Tell me ... why hasn't he come back yet?"

Brenda wrapped her arms around her and whispered through her own tears, "He'll be here soon, Shirley. I promise. He'll come for you."

Shirley glanced out the window. Hope, raw and endless, shimmered in her beautiful eyes.

She followed Brenda back to bed and slowly closed her eyes again.

Only after she'd fallen back asleep did Robin dare to approach.

He held her wrist gently, feeling the steady pulse of her heartbeat.

Then his eyes widened. Shirley was carrying twins—a boy and a girl.

His joy must've shown on his face because everyone else noticed but didn't dare ask.

They wondered what he had discovered.

"Robin ... is she getting better now?" Brenda asked in a whisper.

"Can she recover?" Joanna added softly.

Robin led them out of the room before answering. "She can't remember anything yet, but I'll do everything I can to help her recover the memories."

Joanna frowned. "When you checked her pulse just now ... was it ... ?"

Robin nodded. "Fraternal twins."

Joanna's face lit up. She said, "Mr. Lennon visited a few days ago and suspected it might be twins. I never imagined it would be a boy and a girl!"

For the entire following week, Robin refused to leave the villa. He stayed by Shirley's side every moment.
