"What are you trying to do?" Verda instantly sensed the terrifying pressure radiating from Robin. "I'm warning you—if you dare—"

"Idiot!" Robin struck her across the face, sending her sprawling to the ground. "Who gave you the guts to challenge me?"

The security guards pulled their guns, but before they could act, Misael's men had already pinned them to the floor.

"You people are out of control!" Verda clutched her swollen cheek and shrieked hysterically. "You'll pay for this—I swear it!"

Robin stepped on her face, his voice low and cold. "If you make another sound and disturb Shirley's peace, I'll end you right here."

Crack! A sharp snap rang out. Half of Verda's face collapsed under his boot.

Only now did she realize—this man wasn't bluffing.

If she pushed her luck even a little more, he really would kill her.

The team of guards she brought stood frozen in place, too afraid to move a muscle.

Robin wiped the dust off his boot using Verda's clothes. "I don't want to kill anyone here and dirty the air around Shirley. But if any of you try this again, I'll erase you from existence. You have one minute. If I see you again—don't blame me for being merciless. Now get out!"

Verda struggled to her feet and scrambled into her car.

The guards tried to follow, but Robin tossed a wet wipe—used to clean his hands—right into their faces. "You drew your guns on me. No one walks away from that. Drag them behind the hill. Execute them."

The guards never imagined their lives would end like this.

Before they could even beg for mercy, two Golden Guards gagged them, dragged them into a vehicle, and sped off toward the back of the mountain.

Meanwhile, Verda sat inside her car, fleeing in a panic. Not until she'd reached the base of the hill did she finally break down, clutching her shattered face and sobbing uncontrollably.

She cried for five, maybe six minutes, before finally pulling herself together.
