Chapter 93 “Like hellEd helieve you Askhan scoffed, his eyes filled with anger. “Cave me car crason why I should helier you weren’t trying to hully her now
“I would never do anything to further reste folded his armTIS.
Akhan scoffed. Tell me something you haven’t already done”
Froste’s eyes narrowed into slits, “I didn’t hurt her.
“And I’m just supposed to believe you?” Askhan shook his head, the anger mident in his voice. “Mathe when Fin done with you, you think better than to try bully Evelyn ever again.”
Askham’s whole aura had completely shifted. He looked ready to beat the living day lights out of Froste, in all honesty. I knew Frove wouldn’t just stand there without putting up some sort of fight.
Still, it didn’t mean I was keen on watching both of them duke it our Just as Askham stepped forward. I held his arm, making him pause in confusion.
“He wasn’t hullying me Askhan” I tied to explain.
Askhan looked surprised. “Are you sure?”
I nodded. “He just called his wolf out to play with me”
Askhan’s gaze travelled to Froste’s wolf which was still lingering by the man’s side. A wolf was one’s close companion. It wasn’t allowed to be away from one’s self for long. And it sure as hell couldn’t he too far away from you.
The fact that he’d let his wolf accompany me meant he was being very trusting at that moment. Askhan’s guards were standing by the door, waiting for whatever order he’d give out to them
“You can leave,” he said to them, “Tll be fine staying here with Evelyn.”
They all bowed and took that as their sign to leave. The only still there was the attendant. He was still shaking even if just a little
“You can leave as well” Askhan waved him off.
The man bowed gratefully before scurrying away. Askhan turned back to look at Froste. The two were still staring at each other, a silent conversation hanging between them. For the hundredth time, I wished I could read minds somehow,
Askhan’s gaze lingered on me briefly, a small smile tugging at his lips. I corked my head, wondering what was making him smile.
“Ragnar.” His gruff voice called out
A blur of colour flected past the corner of my eyes. I turned just in time to see the wolf saunter next to Askhan
It had golden fur that seemed to listen under the sunlight. The wolf looked pretty flamboyant and high profile just like Akhan was. The way it walked and the manner in which it carried itself felt like royalty in some way.
Froste’s woll, Eminence, on the other hand looked pretty introverted compared to Ragnar. The deep black wolf carried vintroverted nature and his excellence.
Both wolves were glaring at each other, not trying to hide the disdain in their gazes. Ragnar watched Eminence with a certain gleam in its eyes that sent a shiver down my spine.
I had no idea why I’d been panicking but the last thing I wanted was the tension between those two escalate. Their wolves carried the same disdam they held for each other.
I’d thought maybe I had been panicking to cover up the flirty encounter had with Froste. The way they were glaring at each other made me realize I’d been terribly wrong.
I should have known all it was doing was increasing the likelihood of a conflict between them. They didn’t like each other on a normal day. Put me into the equation and that would be a rope for distance
1 yawned, drawing the attention of both men. “I’m pretty tired. It’s been a long day.”
Duded budu reka forumad karika Mäen.
Froster’s gaze softened just a hit. “Yes it has. You had a pretty long day”
Thammed. “I think I want to go home tow
“I can give you a ride!”
“Til help with that!
The two men turned to each other just as they’d said the words at the same time. Tension seemed to wrap its tendrils around the whole room. They didn’t look like they’d back down from this.
It wasn’t like I wanted to be caught up in an awkward situation. My gaze went to Eminence, and then Ragnar. A bright idea hit my head.
I turned to the men. “How about a race? Both wolves against each other.”
They turned in unison, their eyes a mix of surprise and curiosity.
“Rare for what
“A race?” Froste asked again, the gears working behind his head.
1 nodded, my gaze travelling to Ragnar and Eminence. They were still glaring at each other, not bothering to hide their animosity towards one another
We moved out of the library to the courtyard. The wide space was the perfect arena for a race between the wolves.
“Sounds like a plan” Askhan’s lips tugged into
Both men had tetious expressions on their faces. I knew Trente
one was heavily competitive and wind back down from any competition whatsoever Askhan had a sinalar sora armund him, his grin nese mical as he watched Frore. Even though technology was really integrating into werewolf life, ir dabin’t charge the fact that ancestral werewolf genes had continued to live on ever seen.
“Hope you don’t break your highness” It had a smirk on his Exce
Watch yourself. Askhan’s eyes armed on him.
They both looked pretty eager to show themselves in front of the only female here which happened to me. I guessed it was something ingrained inde ancestral werewolf genes. They would always be competitive and eager to show off in long as there was a woman to be impressed.
Their wolves didn’t look keen on admitting dedeat either. Their growls and arls rang in my ear as a cautionary sound
We’re ready whenever you are, Evelyn” Akhan had a confident smirk on his face.
“Hit as with the questions.” Troste folded his arms, eagerly waiting for me to start with the questions.
They looked like they were probably expecting some hard questions. I racked my brain, wondering what would be the best thing to do
An idea popped into my head. I’d already felt the presence and now I was sure of mythanch
Without giving it another thought, I spread my arms out in the open. The two men looked confused, probably wondering what must have gotten into me. Eminence stepped a bit closer to me and Ragnar followed suit.
They both looked pretty cautious as they eagerly watched me. My words were like a life line for them and they were anxiously waiting on it.
A small growl pierced the sudden silence, just then, a light grey wall entered the courtyard. Its fur seemed to glisten as it made its way towards us. I was slightly smaller than Eminence and Ragnar were.
Its eyes glanced over all the people present hefore they finally landed on me. Small eyes widened into saucers and it made its way to me with great agility
“Hello,” I greeted the wolf with a small smile.
The wolf stopped before o
me and gave me a high five with its front paws. The grey wolf’s eyes glistened with something that looked like happiness.
Without thinking. I wrapped my arms around i Eminence and kagnar looked curious at the scene that was playing out
“Who’s wolf is that?” Fruste was the first to break the slepre.
Akhan looked in the direction the grey wolf had come out from. Olayir slowly walked out of the corner.
