Buried by My Alpha Crowned novel Chapter 12

Chapter 12

We were married six months later in a small ceremony with just our closest friends. No politics, no pack alliances, just two people who’d found their way back

to each other.

The bonding ceremony was simple but profound. When the mate bond settled into place, it felt nothing like the suffocating chain it had been with Cassian. This felt like coming home.

“So.” Froste said as we swayed together during our first dance, “any regrets?”

“Only that we didn’t do this sooner.”

“We both needed to become the people we are now first,” he said wisely.

He was right. I’d needed to become strong enough to stand beside him as an equal, not cling to him as a crutch.

“I love you, husband,” I said, testing out the word.

“I love you too, wife.”

was conscientious about my work, professional with everyone. My colleagues knew me simply as Evelyn, the tech expert who’d joined from a successful consulting firm. I made friends, contributed to projects, and slowly built a reputation based on merit alone.

You know,” Froste said one morning as we got ready for work, “I’m proud of you.”

‘For what?”

For rebuilding yourself. For finding your way back to happiness.” He kissed my forehead. “For giving us a chance.”

‘Best decision I ever made,” I said, meaning it.

Even better than destroying Cassian?”

That was justice. This is love. There’s a difference.”

He laughed, the sound rich and warm. “I love you, wife.”

I love you too, husband.”
