Chapter 9
When Jordan got home in the evening, he thought for a moment and said to Melanie, “Your vacation will be over tomorrow, right? And the bid document is ready, right? Once it’s done, you can go to the company and deliver it to our partners. Also, no matter what happens tomorrow, don’t come to me. I have something to
take care of.”
He had already imagined the reaction Melanie would have, and had prepared in advance the way to respond.
But unexpectedly, Melanie didn’t even ask, she just agreed.
This surprised Jordan a little. “You didn’t ask me where I was going tomorrow?”
Melanie smiled and didn’t say anything. In the past, because she liked Jordan, she would follow him wherever
he went.
But now she didn’t like Jordan, he went everywhere without her.
“Do you really have nothing to ask?” Jordan questioned, looking at Melanie skeptically.
Melanie nodded, “Yes.”
“What?”
“Jordan, I will be turning thirty tomorrow. Do you remember when I said that if I turned thirty and you still haven’t married me, I won’t want you anymore?”
“I knew, but that was just a joke, who would take a joke seriously, and besides, the company was in its early
stages, I didn’t have that idea.”
Melanie liked him so much, how could she suddenly stop liking him after turning thirty? Therefore, Jordan
just took what Melanie said as a joke.
Melanie nodded as she watched Jordan’s nonchalant tone, saying, “I understand.”
The next morning, Jordan left in his finest suit.
As Melanie watched Jordan leave, she thought, “This is finally going to end.”
Wearing her own wedding dress, Melanie left a wedding invitation behind and turned around to leave.
Jordan.
