Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Those who had taken Janie’s medicine felt much better. They repeatedly thanked Janie and Jackson
David was taken aback. He had thought that Janie merely looked like a fairy, not expecting her to be so remarkable
Seeing the visible improvement in their condition, Ryan hesitated, glancing at Xena and considering urging her to take Janie’s medicine too.
After all, Janie might know little about medicine, but she surely has her own opportunities and perhaps has discovered something amazing, he thought.
At the end of the day, Xena and Janie were sisters, and Ryan wanted them to get closer
Xena weakly replied, “Stop trying to comfort me, Ryan. I’ll just wait for the car
Clearly, she had no intention of taking Janie’s medicine. Ryan had no choice but to relent.
Jason, on the other hand, was eager to try Janie’s medicine, but Janie and Jackson paid him no mind. He had to give up
“The car’s here!” The production team was overjoyed, quickly enlisting unoccupied staff to help the suffering ones into the
car.
Ryan looked at Janie, torn between words. He wanted her to join them.
But Janie simply turned and walked away, looking carefree and unbothered.
Ryan had mixed feelings. He wanted Janie to come along and ease the tension between her and Xena, but it seemed she didn’t appreciate his concern at all.
‘Does she really not want to go home?‘ he thought.
He glanced at Jackson. With Janie being so beautiful, he couldn’t help but wonder what Jackson wanted from her. Concern gnawed at him.
“Ryan?” Xena said.
Ryan snapped back to reality and, without further delay, hoisted Xena onto his back.
Only Janie, Jackson, David, and a few staff members stayed there.
Emily, in immense pain, still found time to curse David, Jackson, and Janie.
Jason, having fainted several times from the pain, was jolted awake again.
Seeing the rosy faces of Molly and the others only deepened their distress.
While chaos reigned on one side, Janie enjoyed tranquil stroll in the yard, with Jackson following her.
David was still hanging around, reluctant to leave.
Recalling what had just happened, David felt a wave of dread.
If it hadn’t been for Janie and Jackson, he might have succumbed to the pressure of the cameras and social obligations and taken a few bites himself.
He might have been poisoned too.

He shuddered at the thought of how unlucky he had been. Without the talisman or Janie, he might truly have been on his way to the afterlife–at such a young age…
David looked at Janie with newfound admiration. “Janic, how did you know that herb was toxic and have the antidote on hand? Are you a miracle–working doctor?”
Janie turned back and said, “It was just a coincidence. I happened to know and have the medicine.”
Jackson couldn’t help but smirk, finding Janic was getting more nonchalant with her lies.
David remained skeptical but thought, Janie is just a girl in her twenties. Knowing a bit about metaphysics is already impressive. What else could she possibly know? Is she still normal?‘
He set aside his doubts and said, “If I hadn’t been with you guys, I would have truly been in trouble.”
Janie glanced at him and nodded. “You indeed dodged a bullet.”
David was taken aback but accepted it with surprising calmness and joy.
Jackson interjected, “They all went to the hospital. Why didn’t you go with them?”
David chuckled and said, “I prefer being with you guys. Besides, I wouldn’t be much help. I’d just complicate things.”
Jackson nodded. “That’s true.”
David was speechless.
Janie yawned. “I’ll leave you alone.”
She turned and headed back to her room.
Jackson shot a disdainful glance at David before returning to his own room.
David scratched his nose and went back to his room as well.
Once the live stream ended, the outside world remained oblivious to what was going on here.
As soon as the stream cut, viewers shifted their focus, and various trending topics skyrocketed, none of which were purchased.
Discussions were rampant with hashtags, [Jackson’s Sister], [Janie, Stunning Beauty], [Jackson’s Sister Complex Revealed], [Jackson and Janie, Social Butterflies], [David and Janie], [Ryan and Janie’s Relationship], and [Emily’s Cooking Disaster].
Jason and Xena risked their lives to eat Emily’s food for attention, yet their popularity paled in comparison to Janie’s.
Janie was so captivating.
[Janie is so beautiful. Total eye candy, and Jackson finally lets his sister shine for the fans?] [Wasn’t Jackson once so aloof? Now he’s like a machine gun, so fiercely protective of his sister.] [Janie’s comebacks are amazing. Total queen vibes! Where can I follow her?]
[Ryan’s gaze at Janie is so questionable. What’s their relationship? Someone, spill the tea.]
The buzz reached a fever pitch, breaking records. While the production team should have been celebrating, they were instead disheartened, watching Xena, Jason, and the others and sighing.
There was no joy to be found. The only happy one was Janie, whose eyes sparkled with delight as she messaged away.

It wasn’t until evening that they received news from the production team.
Molly and others were unharmed. Jason, Xena, and Emily endured gastric lavage, full body checks, bitter medicine, and surgeries, suffering immensely, but at least they were no longer in danger of death.
However, they were weak and needed proper recovery.
Was it a deliberate poisoning case or just a stroke of bad luck on Emily’s part? It was still under investigation, meaning normal filming couldn’t resume.
