Rise of the returned sister (by Isla) novel Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Janie’s soft and gentle temperament seemed to have changed in the turn of an instant. She still had that indifferent loo her face, but it was hard to look at her directly.

As her words came out of her mouth, everyone else’s expressions changed except Jackson’s. For a moment, Emily did not know how to react.

It wasn’t that she hadn’t encountered similar situations in the past, and with her good passerby reputation and popularey. she had rarely missed a beat. It was always the others who suffered.

Molly looked at Janie in surprise.

Seeing this. Jason suggested to Jackson, Mr. Moore, isn’t Miss Janie too much? Should you?

Jackson glanced at him coldly and he immediately shut his mouth. Jackson sneered, What’s wrong with it? What’s wrong with what Janie said? She’s my boss.

He laughed with sarcasm, So you’re looking for the wrong person.”

Jason was momentarily speechless.

David also stated, It wasn’t a big deal, but now, by mistake, I’m the one who’s bullying others. I can’t accept that. Emily, you’d better explain this clearly.

Xena gritted her teeth and whispered comforting words to Emily, Miss Yates, you’d better make it clear

Emily’s thoughts raced. Faced with this tricky situation, she had already begun to regret her actions.

I, I-she stammered, gritting her teeth, I said it was my fault. I don’t know how to ride a bike while you do. I wanted to get closer to you, but you were cold. I got upset, but I didn’t mean anything else.

[Hey, I almost let her lead me just now! If Janie and the others had left without standing up for themselves, I would have thought they were being too hard on Emily. They just didn’t let her ride a bike with them.]

[What does she mean by being treated cold? There’s a reason Emily hasn’t been a hit in all these years, because she hasn’t focused her mind on acting.]

[Seriously? What’s wrong with her? She’s just upset! Don’t make a big deal.]

Although her explanation was still not clear enough, the crowd was not ignorant and quickly understood the truth of the matter. They all looked at Emily with a hint of dissimilarity in their eyes.

Xena was a little disappointed. She thought Emily was sophisticated and wouldn’t let Janie off the hook so easily, but she didn’t expect her to be this unbearable.

Janie shot back, What do you mean by cold? Not taking you along is being cold? People should have a sense of boundaries. We don’t know each other well and won’t get close, so not wanting to give you a ride is fine.”

David Smith also nodded in agreement.

Janie’s gaze was cold, Now that we’ve finished, can we leave?

Without waiting for the others to respond, she turned around and left. Jackson and David followed closely behind.

Xena shouted from behind, Mr. Smith, Miss Yates is your partner, shouldn’t you talk with her properly?

David footsteps lurched as he felt a deep sense of boredom inside.

Jackson immediately responded, Alright, then go and accompany your partner. We’ll leave first, David could only say helplessly, Alright then.

Ryan looked at Jackson and Janie. You guys are planning to go cycling? Can we join you?

Jackson smiled and refused, No.

89%#

Ryan was used to his unfriendly attitude and didn’t take it personally. He turned to Xena and said, Let’s go together. It’s time to get to know this place.

Xena nodded but then looked at Emily, feeling a little embarrassed.

Emily was quite irritated, lost in her thoughts. With a forced smile, she said to Xena, It’s fine. I need some time alone.

After hearing this, David chimed in, Alright, take your time to calm down. I’ll leave now.

Emily simply replied, Okay. She felt unhappy with David, but he seemed oblivious to her feelings and continued to look cheerful.

[Janie, you’re incredibly articulate! Would you mind kissing me so I can pick up some of your charms?]

[Your efforts are unmistakable.]

[Jackson’s disdain for David was so apparent. I almost forgot that David was invited by Emily.]

[Emily: I’m just saying. Are you really leaving?]

Jackson didn’t feel too good. He had thought that David would take the hint and leave, but instead, he followed him again.

He rushed to the bicycles, chose a pink princess bike for Janie, and happily wheeled it over.

Janie couldn’t resist taking the bike after seeing Jackson’s genuine, charming smile.

His grin grew wider as he quickly picked out a cool bike for himself. He wheeled it to Janie, ready to ride off with her.

Xena said, looking envious, Janie’s bike is so cute! I’ll have to choose another one as there aren’t any left.

Watching the easy rapport between Janie and Jackson, Ryan pressed his lips together and remained silent.

Jason smiled and said, Other bikes are cute too. You’re so lovely; you could pull off any bike.”

Xena blushed and replied, You’re so sweet.

Jason quickly added, I’m telling the truth.

Then he turned to Molly and asked, Can you ride a bike? Do you want me to carry you?

After a brief pause, Molly replied, I can ride. You don’t need to worry about me.
