Chapter 19
Janie lost interest in her book, setting it aside as her thoughts drifted.
Nena asked, “Where’s Mr. Moore and Mr. Smith?”
Emily replied with a simile. “They went to wash the dishes?
“I sec. Xena thought for a moment and said, Janie, Mr. Moore is really nice to you; you don’t have to lift a finger.”
Janie nodded slightly with a soft look in her eyes. “Yeah, he’s great.”
Janie’s previous attitude was indifferent, and now she seemed to be showing off, which made Xena feel a little uncomfortable.
“T” She wanted to say more.
But Janie cut her off impatiently. “Can you focus on your food while I read my book?”
Xena felt awkward for a second. She had to eat her meal with silent difficulty. It was hard to swallow at all because the food was awful
Compared to Jackson, she kind of disliked Ryan-
Xena, hurry up and eat. I’ll take care of the dishes later,” said Ryan after he thought for a moment.
Ryan hadn’t washed the dishes before, and his words touched Xena, she said, “Ryan, you are so sweet I don’t want you working too hard. Let’s do it together.”
Ryan nodded in agreement. “Alright, let’s learn together. Practicing some life skills.”
He added with a grin, “When we get home, we can help Mom and Dad cook and do the dishes.
Xena originally wanted him to wash the dishes by himself, so she forced a smile. “Yeah, Mom and Dad work hard.”
Janie, have you seen how Xena is doing? You don’t even care about your brother at all)
[I don’t want to stir things up, but Jackson would be totally cool with it. If Janie interferes, he might get upset. It seems like Xena is deliberately antagonizing Janie.]
[Xena is from a rich family. She’s gorgeous and super talented. With three brothers spoiling her, she’s like a fictional heroine. And what about Janie? Just an eye candy.]
[Come on, I laugh my ass off. Honestly, Janie is more beautiful and more elegant than Xena. Her brother is a superstar. There’s so much more to her than you; she’s not bad at all. Xena is nothing]
At that moment, Molly was packing her stuff to wash the dishes.
Jason noticed and immediately got up, saying, “Molly, I’m also done eating. Leave it to me.”
He grinned and added, “I can’t let girls do all the cleaning.”
Molly paused for a second and shook her head. “No need. Just wash your own.”
Jason sighed but replied, “Alright then.”
He turned to Xena and the others and said, “We’ll head out first.”

Chapter 19
Nena and Emily nodded with smiles while Ryan stayed quiet with a blank expression.
He glanced over at Janie. When Janie left the Jenkins family, she was not 18 years old. So she didn’t get much chance to continue her studies,
Nena felt similarly. She looked at Janie about to say something, Janie, you
Just then Jackson came back after washing the dishes and frowned. “Why are your always bothering Janie?”
Xena’s face went pale as she replied. “I’m curious about what book she’s reading. It looks interesting”
Jackson scoffed internally. He could see right through her intentions.
“My sister has been into ancient texts lately,” he said dismissively, “You probably wouldn’t get them anyway, so don’t bother.”
Isn’t Jackson being a bit much? Sounds like bragging that might blow up in his face.)
I don’t feel that way.]
Xena wasn’t buying it at all. He’s showing off. Janie didn’t go to college or finish high school. She can’t read ancient texts. She probably just landed Jackson recently she thought.
Xena responded, “Oh, really? What’s it? Maybe I know.”
Janie glanced at her. “You’re seriously annoying.”
Janie closed her book while Jackson put it away.
They paid no more attention to Xena.
Ryan frowned and said, Janie, what’s up with you? Xena just wanted to get closer to you. Why are you acting like this?”
Janie replied calmly. “You know exactly what she’s after. Are you a mind reader or something? Because she makes me uncomfortable,”
Jackson nodded in agreement.
[Oh man! Janie is so straightforward! I love it! It’s super annoying when someone keeps talking while one tries to read.] [Janie has zero emotional intelligence. What’s up with Jackson? Why invite her here? She’s such a pain in the neck.]
[I don’t think so. What’s the point of being mediocre? After a day at work with annoying colleagues, I don’t want to watch boring variety shows. I want to see something dramatic.]
Emily furrowed her brow and asked, “Why do you make your relationships so bad?”
Janic and Jackson chose not to respond.
Even David seemed indifferent to her words.
Emily expression shifted noticeably.
Xena clenched her teeth but decided not to press the question further.
