Chapter 90
“Fuck them,” I spat.
“I know this is a shock,” Varian said, his voice dropping lower. “I’m stunned too. Never imagined she was the daughter of an Alpha leader. And not just any pack–Moonshade isn’t so
small outfit. They’re our biggest competitor.”
He studied my face, his eyes narrowing. “What? Regretting divorcing an Alpha’s daughter now?”
I scowled at him. “You really think I give
a
shit about her family
“Then why are you so pissed off?”
My eyes drifted back to Lysandra, now engaged in conversation with several Alphas as her brother introduced her. The sight of them circling her like wolves around fresh meat made something dark and possessive twist in my gut.
“She got the Lunaris Essence for my father, and I treated her like shit for it,” I admitted. “I accused her of-
“Sleeping with her brother,” Varian finished bluntly. “Yeah, that doesn’t look great in retrospect.”
I searched the crowd for Selene, but she’d disappeared into the mass of bodies. Regret washed over me, not for losing her- but for ever trusting her.
“It was her friend who fed me those lies,” I muttered.
“You’ll need to ask her which friend that was,” Varian replied.
“I have all the security footage. Pull it up, find out who was there that night. Get their identities.”
Varian nodded, immediately pulling out his phone to make the call.
Once I felt marginally more in control, I made my way toward the group of Alphas surrounding Lys. fell over themselves trying to impress her, asking what she looked for in an Alpha mate. Pathetic.
Alaric spotted me approaching. His eyebrow arched, but he maintained his composure in front of the other Alphas. “Alpha Tristan,” he acknowledged, voice perfectly neutral.
The other Alphas turned, surprise registering on their faces as they shifted to make space for me. The tension in the air thickened–two powerful, historically hostile packs facing off.
“Pleasure to see you, Alpha Tristan,” one of them offered, others quickly following with similar platitudes, though their eyes remained curious.
I dismissed their formalities with a curt nod, my gaze inevitably drawn to Lysandra. She stood tall and proud, nothing like the woman who’d once cowered in my presence. Alaric stood ramrod straight beside her, refusing to bow his head even slightly. He already commanded one of the largest packs–he had nothing to prove,
“Alpha Alaric,” I returned the greeting, my voice carrying just enough ice to make my feelings clear.
Then, as if pulled by an invisible force, my eyes shifted to Lysandra. She was watching me, her expression inscrutable, clearly waiting to see my reaction. Behind her, Kieran hovered protectively, one hand resting on her waist in a display of claiming that made my teeth clench.

Instead of showing the turmoil raging inside me, I forced my lips into a smile and extended my hand toward her. “Sol. understand. You’re the missing princess of this pack, Elysia Ravencroft.”
Lysandra glanced at my outstretched hand, hesitating. Before she could respond, Alaric intercepted, clasping my hand
firmly.
“Alpha Tristan, glad you could join us,” he said, his grip tightening painfully as our energies clashed. “I’m very protective of my sister.”
“Overprotective, you mean,” I muttered, my wolf rising to the challenge, craving the confrontation brewing between us.
