Chapter 83
Months passed in a blur of meetings, negotiations, and late nights learning the intricacies of Ravencroft Enterprises. What had begun as reluctant acceptance from the board gradually evolved into genuine respect as my decisions proved profitable and my leadership style effective.
Word spread throughout pack territories about the “resurrected” Ravencroft daughter. Despite the company’s strict policy prohibiting recording devices and photography within its walls, employees couldn’t help discussing my appearance and abilities outside office hours.
Rumors about the beautiful Ravencroft princess with extraordinary healing powers circulated widely, growing more elaborate with each retelling. I’d become something of a legend–a mysterious, powerful beauty that many had heard of but few had actually seen.
Alpha wolves from neighboring packs began making overtures, suddenly interested in ‘strengthening alliances with Moonshade. Several powerful Alphas even requested visits to Moonshade territory for the specific purpose of meeting me. Alaric rebuffed them all, knowing their real interest. A mate bond with such power would strengthen any bloodline.
The sun was setting when I pulled into the circular driveway of the Ravencroft mansion, casting the gray stone in amber light. I’d received my parents‘ dinner invitation just as I was preparing to leave the office, their timing suspiciously precise.
Caspian and Aurelia waited in the dining room, my father’s tall form silhouetted against the floor- to–ceiling windows. Alaric stood nearby, gaze fixed on the distant forest, body tense with the perpetual alertness of an Alpha even in his own territory.
My mother glided toward me, her grace unchanged by the years. She brushed a strand of hair from my face, the gesture both maternal and assessing.
“You look tired, my dear. Working too hard?”
“No more than necessary.” I smiled, relaxing into her touch.
“You’ve made remarkable progress at the company,” my father said, pride evident in his voice. “The board couldn’t stop singing your praises at our last meeting.”
We moved toward the table, the staff appearing to serve the first course. Just as we settled, Alaric cleared his throat.
“Before we begin, there’s something we need to discuss with you, Lyss.”
I looked up, recognizing the gleam in my brother’s eyes–the one that appeared whenever he had

something particularly clever planned.
“We’re hosting a yacht party,” my mother announced, excitement brightening her face. To formally introduce our lost daughter to werewolf society–the princess of Moonshade Pack and the new CEO of Ravencroft Enterprises.”
I nearly choked on my water.
“It’s time, daughter,” my father said firmly, “For five years, you’ve lived in the shadows. It’s time everyone knows that Elysia Ravencroft didn’t die–she returned to us as Lysandra.”
“And,” Alaric added, his eyes flashing with something deeper, “it’s an opportunity to demonstrate our strength to other packs, Particularly Silverblood.”
My body tensed instinctively. “You’re inviting Silverblood Pack?”
“As prominent members of the Moon Ring Council, we can hardly exclude them,” my mother explained.
“So Tristan will be there?” My heartbeat accelerated despite my best efforts to remain calm. Astrid stirred restlessly within me, simultaneously excited and wary.
“He must attend,” Alaric said, a dangerous smile playing at his lips. “As Alpha of Silverblood, refusing our invitation would be a public insult. Besides, I want him to see exactly what he cast aside–how powerful the woman he mocked as ‘wolfless‘ has become.”
He leaned forward, green eyes gleaming with mischief. “Wouldn’t you enjoy watching that arrogant Alpha forced to acknowledge his misjudgment?”
