Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Tristan’s POV

The taste of Lysandra’s blood lingered on my tongue as I settled behind my office desk. Hours had passed since I’d left her hospital room, yet the memory remained vividher defiant eyes, the slight tremor in her voice when she challenged me, the way her skin had yielded beneath my teeth.

I exhaled slowly, fingers tracing the edge of a quarterly report. The satisfaction I’d expected to feel after confronting her hadn’t materialized. Instead, something unsettled had taken root, growing with each passing hour.

I shook my head slightly, refocusing on the documents before me. Pack business wouldn’t wait for

my thoughts to settle. The merger with the Eastern territories would secure Silverblood’s dominance

for generations.

A knock interrupted my spiral. My secretary entered, her steps hesitant, clutching a folder to her

chest like armor.

What?I didn’t look up from the bloodied papers.

Alpha, I haveShe swallowed audibly. News about the Eastern territories merger.

That caught my attention. I’d been negotiating this deal for monthsa partnership that would

expand Silverblood’s influence across three additional territories.

Tell me.

They’ve pulled out, sir.She set the folder on my desk, careful to avoid the blood spatters. The contract was canceled this morning.

My head snapped up. Who authorized this?

The Eastern Alphas made the decision collectively. They’veShe hesitated, eyes dropping to the floor. They’ve signed with Moonshade Pack instead.

The steel pen between my fingers snapped, ink spraying across my hand like another wound. The secretary flinched but didn’t retreat.

My office door swung open without warning. Varian strode in, taking in the scene with one sweeping glancemy bleeding hand, the broken pen, my secretary’s rigid posture.

What’s happened? His question was directed at both of us.

The secretary quickly summarized the situation. Varian’s expression darkened with each word.

I moved to the window, staring out at the city spread beneath my tower,

It’s not a coincidence,I said, more to myself than to them. Alpha Alaric comes to our territory, and suddenly we lose a critical deal we’ve been working on for months?

You think this was his purpose all along?Varian approached, standing just behind my left shoulder.

Why else would Moonshade’s Alpha personally enter our territory? My knuckles whitened against the window frame as memories of those security camera images flashed through my mindLysandra leading him into her hotel room, that smile on her face. He used her as a distraction.

Her?Varian’s voice sharpened with interest.

I turned, moving back to my desk and wiping blood from my palm with a handkerchief. Lysandra. While we were focused on her and my father’s treatment, Alpha Alaric was meeting with our

business partners.

Had she been part of this scheme? Using my father’s illness as an excuse to gain access to our territory, to our information? The thought made something dark and violent twist inside me.

I’m going to the hospital,I announced, already heading for the door.

The hospital corridor stretched before me, sterile and white, pack members parting like water as I stormed through. Nurses averted their eyes, doctors bowed their heads in deference as I passed. None dared speak to memy rage must have been palpable, a physical force preceding me down the

hallway.

I pushed open the door to Lysandra’s room without knocking.

A woman lay in the beddark hair spread across the pillow, face turned away. For one wild moment, hope and dread tangled in my chest. I crossed the room in three long strides and grabbed her

shoulder.

She turned, gasping in shock, revealing an unfamiliar face. Not Lysandra.

Alpha! The woman trembled beneath my hand. I’m sorry-

Where is she?I demanded, releasing the stranger.

A nurse appeared in the doorway, alerted by the commotion. She shrank back when my gaze landed

on her.

The previous patient was discharged, Alpha, she explained, voice barely above a whisper. Around

noon.

Discharged? I repeated. On whose authority?

II don’t know, sir. Dr. Rylan handled it personally.

I left without another word, heading directly for Rylan’s office. When I found it, I didn’t bother knockingjust shoved the door open hard enough to send it crashing against the inner wall.

Rylan looked up from his computer, startled but not entirely surprised. Something in his expression told me he’d been expecting this confrontation.

Alpha,he acknowledged, rising from his chair. What can I do for you?

Where is she? Each word dropped like a stone.

I assume you’re asking about Lysandra He maintained a professional calm that only irritated me

further. She was discharged earlier today.

You authorized this?

She wanted to leave. He stood his ground, meeting my gaze directly. Medically speaking, she was stable enough for transport.

I moved closer, invading his personal space. You’ve grown quite close to my former Luna, haven’t you? Flowers in the cafeteria, special care for her treatments

We’re friends. His tone remained even. Nothing more.

Friends.I nearly sneered the word. And as her friend, you let her leave my territory?

She’s no longer under your authority, Alpha.A flash of defiance crossed his features. She made her.

choice clear.

I placed one hand on his desk, leaning in until our faces were inches apart. Who took her?

I’m bound by medical confidentiality—

Don’t test me, Rylan.I kept my voice calm, which somehow made the threat more potent. Answer my question.

He hesitated, weighing his options. I could almost see the calculations behind his eyeshis duty to his patients versus his loyalty to his Alpha.

Hospital policy allows close family or pack members to take responsibility for patients,he finally
