Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Tristan’s POV

The phone hit my desk hard enough to crack the screen. I didn’t give a shit. The line had gone dead, Lysandra cutting me off midsentence like I was some fucking telemarketer instead of an Alpha.

Goddamn it! I slammed my fist into the wall, leaving a small crater in the plaster. Five years of searching for her, and this was how she treated me?

1 yanked my tie loose and paced the office. The border dispute with the northern packs needed my attention. The council followups required signatures. Reports of rogue activity had tripled. And now my father was deteriorating, doctors baffled by his condition.

But all I could think about was Lysandra and her twins.

And that Beta, with his hands all over her. The casual intimacy between them ignited something primal in my chest. The image burned behind my eyelids- his fingers massaging her shoulders, his lips at her ear. The way she’d laughed when he drank from her cup.

My wolf snarled, claws scratching against my consciousness.

Mine. She’s OURS.

I grabbed my keys and jacket, desperate to escape the suffocating confines of my office. I went to the hospital to see my father.

Son. His voice was weaker than yesterday.

I approached the bed, hands shoved in my pockets. Words always failed me here. What was I supposed to say? That I was terrified of losing him despite our differences? That I’d run the pack into the ground without his guidance?

Fenris studied my face, seeing more than I wanted him to. Did you contact her?

No need to specify who herwas. Lysandra had always been his favorite.

Yes.

And?

I lowered myself into the visitor’s chair. She said she’ll visit. When she chooses.

His mouth quirked. Still giving orders rather than asking, I see,

I don’t beg, Dad.

The familiar tension stretched between us. Since Lysandra left, the wall had only grown higher. Every conversation circled back to my failure as her mate.

His voice hardened despite his weakness. The path of the prophecy requires separation before true joining, but it didn’t have to be like this.

I exhaled slowly. This prophecy nonsense again?

But the words echoed in my mind as I left. Separation before true joining. Like seeds planted in fertile soil, they took root and refused to die.

Sleep eluded me that night. I stared at the cefling of my penthouse bedroom, watching shadows dance across its surface. My father’s disappointed expression haunted me, so similar to when he’d first ordered me to mark Lysandra.

She’s the one, he’d insisted back then. The prophecy is clear.

Chapter 34

I’d fought him every step of the way, furious at being forced to mate a woman I didn’t choose. A wolfless nobody from a Gamma family.

But now

Something had changed. The magnetic pull I felt toward her wasn’t hatred.

I shook my head violently. No. She’d manipulated my father, used that bullshit prophecy to climb the pack hierarchy. She was sleeping with Kieran while married to me, bearing his children in secret.

Sleep finally claimed me, only to thrust me into a nightmare worse than wakefulness.

Lysandra moaned as Kieran’s mouth moved down her I’ve always wanted you, she whispered, arching into his touch. Even when I was with him

claimed what was mine.

I woke with a strangled shout, sheets twisted around my legs, cock painfully hard. Sweat dampened my skin despite the cool air.

Fuck!I threw off the covers, stumbling toward the bathroom like a wounded animal.

Cold water hit my skin like needles. I turned my face into thes spray, willing it to wash away the images branded into my mind. My erection refused to subside, throbbing insistently despite the freezing water.

*Get out of my head,I growled, pounding my fist against the tile wall.

I cranked the shower to hot, steam billowing around me. The change did nothing to cool my thoughts. My skin flushed as memories assaulted me— Lysandra’s lips against mine in the hotel room, soft yet demanding. The scent of violets and midnight that clung to her skin. The elegant slope of her neck where my mark had once been.

My hand moved to my cock, gripping the hard length. I hissed through clenched teeth, hating myself for the weakness.

But I couldn’t stop. Not now.

I closed my eyes, and she was therenot the young, uncertain bride I’d rejected, but the woman she’d become. Confident. Powerful. Exquisite in that black dress, curves accentuated by the satin that hugged her body like a second skin.

Fuck,I groaned, stroking myself harder.

Water cascaded down my chest as I leaned against the shower wall, surrendering to the fantasy. In my mind, she was here with me, challenging me as I pushed her against the tiles. I imagined her mouth opening under mine, her hands gripping my shoulders.

those green eyes

My strokes quickened, thumb circling the sensitive head. I pictured lifting her, her legs wrapping around my waist as I thrust into her heat.
