Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 171

Chapter 171

They’re My children!

Tristan’s accusation slammed into me with crushing force. I tried to stand, to reach my twins, but my legs buckled beneath me. The wolfsbane still coursed through my veins, making every movement pure agony.

Across the bloodied lawn, Orion and Lyra stared at Tristan’s massive wolf form with wide, bewildered eyes. What terrified me most wasn’t their proximity to an enraged Alpha wolfit was their total lack of fear.

Lyra, my fearless little girl, actually extended her small hand toward his silverstreaked fur.

Terror clawed at my throat. The carefully constructed moon shadow spell that had concealed their connection to Tristan for five years had shattered like glass. How? A simple Alpha howl shouldn’t have been enough to break such powerful magic. Years of meticulous planning, undone in seconds.

I dragged myself forward on trembling limbs, desperate to reach them before the full truth emerged. Before Tristan could claim what I’d stolen.

Fascinating family reunion,Alpha Kael’s voice cut through my panic. He materialized beside me, his human form partially shifted, claws extended and dripping with my brother’s blood. Almost makes me hesitant to end it.

His expression twisted with something beyond simple crueltya calculating hunger that made my blood run cold.

Did you know,he continued conversationally, as if we weren’t surrounded by carnage, I didn’t come to your pack seeking an alliance. I came hunting the purple wolf from the ancient scrolls. His eyes glittered as they traced over my prone form. The prophecy spoke of your offspring carrying unique gifts. I’ve spent years searching.

My heart stalled in my chest. He knew. Somehow, he’d discovered what I’d worked so hard to conceal.

Without warning, Kael spun away from me, his attention snapping to Alaric’s prone form. My brother lay motionless several yards away, his breathing shallow and labored. The wooden stake still protruded from his leg, black blood seeping around the wound.

Perhaps I’ll finish the brother first,Kael announced, fingers tightening around his poisoned dagger. You wolves and your damned family loyalty. Nothing breaks you faster than watching your loved ones die.

I screamed, the sound tearing from my throat as Kael lunged toward my helpless brother. Alaric couldn’t survive another poisoned woundhis weakened body would collapse instantly.

Near the manor entrance, Tristan stiffened, his massive head swinging between my children and Alaric. For one agonizing moment, indecision paralyzed himprotect the children he’d just discovered or save the Alpha who’d publicly humiliated him.

What happened next stopped my breath entirely.

Orion, my fiveyearold son, stepped in front of his sister, tiny shoulders squared with determination far beyond his years.

Save my uncle,he called to Tristan, voice high but startlingly firm. I can protect my sister.

Lyra peered around her brother, huge green eyes filling with tears. Please, ice cream uncle. Mommy loves her brother.

Something shifted in Tristan’s gazea flicker of recognition, of understanding. He held the children’s eyes for one electric moment, then spun toward Alaric with blinding speed.

I watched, transfixed, as my twins ran back to my mother’s waiting arms. My father continued battling Kael’s wolves nearby, unable to help them. Yet through our fractured bond, I sensed something extraordinarythe children weren’t afraid. Somehow, they feltsafe.

Tristan tore across the battlefield like silver lightning. Wolves scattered before him, some dropping to their bellies in instinctive submission. When he reached Kael, the other Alpha pivoted, dagger slashing toward Tristan’s exposed flank.

Chapter 171

Tristan twisted midair, jaws snapping as he narrowly avoided the poisoned blade. You used their trust, his voice thundered through the mental link, teaching everyone on the field. Betrayed an alliance for your own greed.

Kael snarled, shifting more completely to wolf form while maintaining his grip on the dagger.

What followed happened so quickly I barely comprehended it. Tristan feinted left, then dropped low, somehow avoiding the dagger’s are entirely. His massive jaws clamped around Kael’s throat before the other Alpha could recover.

A sickening tearing sound echoed across the suddenly silent battlefield. Blood sprayed in a crimson arc as Kael’s head separated from his body.

The fighting stopped instantly. Wolves from both packs stood frozen, stunned by the abrupt execution of an Alpha. A few of Kael’s loyalists fled into the forest, but most simply dropped to the ground in submission.

I struggled to process what I’d just witnessed. Tristan had saved my brother. He’d chosen to protect Alaric over pursuing his rage against me or even securing his newly discovered children.

Nothing made sense anymore.

Through blurred vision, I watched Tristan lope back to where my children waited:-He didn’t shift back to human formperhaps unwilling to appear naked before them. Instead, he lowered his massive head, bringing himself closer to their level.

Without hesitation, Lyra reached out, her tiny fingers sinking into his thick fur. Why do you look so sad?she asked, her innocence cutting through the battlefield’s tension. Did you come to protect us?

Orion maintained his protective stance, positioned slightly in front of his sister despite his obvious curiosity. Who are you?he asked, eyes narrowing as he studied the silver markings along Tristan’s spine. Why are your silver lines the same as the ones on my arm?
