Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins
Chapter 174
I stood rooted in the center of the room, gaze flicking between his face and the door, calculating my chances of escape. Not good. Even wounded, he’d catch me before I reached the handle.
The glass made a soft thud as he set it down and crossed the room in three long strides. His fingers caught my chin, tilting my face upward. His thumb traced the outline of my lower lip with deliberate slowness, forcing me to meet his gaze.
His scent enveloped me–whiskey, blood, and that wild, dangerous essence.
“Where’s that famous arrogance now, Lysandra Ravencroft?” he murmured. “Why are you avoiding my eyes?”
I tried to turn away but his grip remained firm, not painful but impossible to break without a struggle.
He leaned closer, his lips brushing against my ear as he spoke. “Look where I’m standing now. Didn’t your brother say I couldn’t set one fucking foot in this house?” A humorless smile curved his mouth. “See how fate has mocked your family. This pack is my territory now. I decide who stays and who gets the hell out.”
When I finally forced myself to meet his eyes, what I saw wasn’t just anger and contempt. Something else lurked beneath the surface, something complex and unsettling that reminded me of the night he’d marked me, when everything had still seemed possible.
“Don’t take your anger out on them,” I said quietly. “Where will my parents go?”
His lips curled into a dangerous smile as his fingers released my chin, trailing deliberately down the column of my throat to rest briefly at my collarbone. “That depends on you, doesn’t it?”
Tristan stepped back, turning toward the window. He pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, tapping one out and lighting it with practiced ease. S
moke curled around him in the moonlight, adding an ethereal quality to his silhouette. Despite everything, I found my gaze tracing the movement of muscle beneath skin as he lifted the cigarette to his lips.
“So you’re an Alpha wolf.” He exhaled a stream of smoke, turning to face me fully, his eyes traveling down my body and back up in a deliberate assessment. “Everyone thought I’d marked a regular Omega, while you’ve been hiding your true power all along. I have to admire your deception.”
I remained silent, watchful, tracking his every move as he stalked back toward me. The distance between us closed again, and suddenly his hand was at the nape of my neck, fingers tangling in my hair.
“I’m sorry for the misunderstanding on the battlefield,” I said coldly. “I thought you were the one who declared war, so I-”
“So you tried to kill me?” he interrupted, voice dropping lower as his lips hovered near my neck. “I felt your murderous intent, Lysandra. Your claws digging into my flesh almost reminded me of our first time together.”
“What? That’s-” I turned my head away from his scorching breath, but didn’t step back completely. “I couldn’t control myself. I thought you were going to hurt Alaric.”
His eyes darkened as his hands gripped my waist, gently but firmly guiding me backward until I felt the cool wall behind me.
“And you chose your brother over me without hesitation.”

“Of course I did!” My voice rose as I pressed my palms against his chest, though I didn’t push him away. “I always will. Why would I choose you over my family? What are you to me? You abandoned me, rejected your own children. So don’t act like I should feel guilty. Everything I’ve done was to protect my family from men like you!”
His expression darkened at my words, something like hurt flashing briefly in his eyes before rage consumed it.

Chapter 174
In an instant, he closed what little space remained between us. One hand gripped my jaw with enough force to leave marks, the other planted firmly on the wall beside my head, caging me between his body and the unyielding surface behind me,
His breath surrounded me, the space between us so charged it seemed to burn.
“How dare you speak to your Alpha that way?” Ilis voice was terrifyingly cold. “Perhaps you don’t know what happened during the battle. While your brother lay dying, he knelt before me, begging me to spare his life and the lives of everyone in your pack.”
I met his stare defiantly. “My brother would place.”
never do that just to save himself. If he were a coward, he wouldn’t have gone to battle in the first
“Still so proud and defiant?”
His hand moved to the wound on my neck, pressing lightly against the injury Alpha Kael’s poisoned blade had left. The wound hadn’t fully healed, and his touch caused fresh blood to seep through the bandage.
