Once they were in the study, Phoebe felt that time moved unusually slowly.

If Audrey couldn’t convince Declan to divorce her, it would be even harder for Phoebe to get a divorce in the future. She really didn’t want to waste any more time with Decian.

It was unclear how much time had passed when Declan finally walked out behind Audrey, his face as cold as ice.

He walked up to the table, picked up the pen, and signed his name. His gaze toward Phoebe was as chilling as a glacier, almost capable of freezing someone to death. “Phoebe, are you satisfied now?”

Phoebe remained unaffected, smiling casually. “I am very satisfied.”

She signed her name and was about to put the divorce agreement away when Declan, with his long fingers, grabbed the agreement before her.

Phoebe’s heart skipped a beat, fearing something else might go wrong. She looked at Declan and said, “Mr. Richardson, please let me keep the divorce agreement.”

“I don’t trust you,” Declan said.

“What do you mean?” Phoebe frowned at him, confused.

Declan sneered. “After all, you managed to get Grandma to give you 10% of Richardson Group. What’s to stop you from tampering with the divorce agreement? If you do, I’ll be at a loss.”

Phoebe pressed her lips together, then spoke. “I don’t intend to keep the 10% of Richardson Group shares Mrs. Richardson promised me.”

Earlier, the excitement of him agreeing to sign the papers had clouded Phoebe’s judgment, and she had forgotten about the shares.

Declan’s eyes were filled with mockery. “Do you expect me to believe you?”

“Mr. Richardson, if you don’t believe me, we can print a new version of the divorce agreement in front of us now and remove the 10% stake in Richardson Group. I won’t accept a single cent as compensation,” Phoebe said.

Before Declan could respond, Audrey spoke. “Pheebs, since I’ve already decided to give you 10% of Richardson Group, that won’t change. You can either accept the shares and divorce Declan, or refuse the shares, and pretend today never happened. It’s up to you.”

“Mrs. Richardson, that’s not-” Phoebe felt helpless. She wanted the divorce, but she didn’t want the shares.

“I’ve given you the choice. You decide,” Audrey said..

After a brief hesitation, Phoebe finally relented. “Fine, I agree to accept the shares.”

‘At worst, I’ll find a chance to transfer them to Declan later,‘ she thought.

Declan let out a cold laugh, turned, and walked out of the living room.

Phoebe was about to chase after him, but Audrey stopped her. “Pheebs, don’t worry. He agreed to sign. He won’t pull anything.”

Although she was still a bit worried, Phoebe could only nod at that moment.

After having dinner with Audrey, Phoebe finally left Elysian House.

As Phoebe was leaving. Audrey looked at her with reluctance, her eyes red. ‘Pheebs, if you ever miss me, you can come back to see me anytime. Even after you divorce Declan, I’ll always be your elder

Knowing that Audrey truly cared for her, Phoebe felt a bit sad. “Mrs. Richardson, don’t worry. I’ll visit you whenever I have time.”

Audrey released her hand, feeling sorrowful. They both knew that after Phoebe and Deelan divorced, Phoebe would probably come to Elysian House less and less.

“Okay, go home now. Be careful on the way,” Audrey said.

Phoebe turned and immediately felt her eyes welling up.

Although Audrey wasn’t her biological grandmother, she made Phoebe feel a long–lost sense of family.

If it weren’t for Declan’s infidelity, maybe Phoebe, even if she didn’t love him anymore, would have stayed with him and maintained a respectful marriage for Audrey’s sake. But there were no ifs.

After leaving Elysian House, Phoebe went straight to Grandview Villa to find Declan.
