Chapter 114
Phoebe and Yann both looked pretty stone–faced. They didn’t expect to be someone’s target once they hit the ground running at Luminis.
They exchanged glances and read the suspicion flashing in each other’s eyes.
“Yann, what’s the move now?” Pheobe asked.
They couldn’t let their whereabouts slip; otherwise, they’d be in trouble.
Yann whipped out his phone and dialed, saying icily, “Find out who was tailing us from the airport.”
As he hung up, the driver solemnly said, “We’ve got two tails on us.”
Yann and Phoebe’s faces both looked very gloomy since their cover was very likely to be blown already.
After a tense silence, Yann told the driver, “Let’s hold off on going back. Drop us at some hotel. We’ll carry out our plan once we know who’s on our tail.”
The driver nodded.
The driver dropped them off at the hotel and beat a hasty retreat.
Yann and Phoebe booked a room and, once inside, started discreetly checking for any hidden cameras or recording devices.
Within five minutes, they’d uncovered seven or eight cameras and tape recorders.
They quickly dismantled the devices, tossed them into the toilet, and flushed. Only then did they relax on the sofa.
Phoebe furrowed her brow and whispered, “Yann, any ideas on who these two groups tailing us could be?”
Yann shook his head. “No clue. We’ll just have to wait for my men’s message.”
“If they’re after Mr. Walker, we should hole up in Luminis for a bit,” Phoebe said. “Deal with these guys first, then track him down.”
After all, Colton had been presumed dead for years. If anyone found out he was still alive, the fallout would be catastrophic.
“You’re right,” Yann agreed. “For the next few days, we’ll need to lay low…
Before Yann could finish, the door burst open, and several people dressed like policemen rushed in.
“Hands up! We’ve got a tip you’re running a prostitution ring here!” they shouted.
Both Phoebe and Yann were shocked and became speechless.
An hour later, a policeman escorted them out of the station, looking sheepish. “I’m really sorry. We got an anonymous tip about prostitution. Wrong room number, turns out. Sorry for causing you so much trouble.”
After this long, exhausting night, they were both worn out. They returned to the hotel, each getting a new room, and slept.
Meanwhile, Declan in Roseberg received a call from his subordinate in Luminis.
“Mr. Richardson, it’s taken care of. Ms. Greene and Mr. White are back at the hotel and go to rest in separate rooms. But I noticed another group tailing Ms. Greene,” said the person over the phone.
“Got it. Keep watching them closely. Once you spot any intimate behavior from them, you know what to do,” Declan said.

Chapter 114
“Yes, Mr. Richardson.”
After hanging up, Declan still looked far from pleased.
It seemed that since leaving Roseberg, Phoebe had grown bolder, even daring to stay with a man in the same hotel room.
He decided to teach her a lesson after she returned. He wanted to make her understand what loyalty to a partner meant.
The next morning, over breakfast, Yann looked at Phoebe with a peculiar expression and said, “So, I’ve identified those two groups. One’s after me, and the other… was sent by Declan…”
Phoebe furrowed her brow. “Got it. I’ll deal with Declan’s people.”
She then stood up and went to make a call to Declan. The line connected shortly after.
“What is it?” he asked.
Phoebe paused for a moment, then said coldly, “Mr. Richardson, please recall the people you sent to tail me.”
Declan sneered and snapped back, “Maybe you should explain why you were sharing a room with another man first.”
Phoebe pursed her lips, and a thought popped into her mind:
“Were those policemen a part of your plan?” she asked angrily.
Declan said coldly, “Last night was just a warning. If I catch you flirting with Yann again, I’ll bring you back immediately.”
