I stood in the hospital corridor, my fingers trembling as I typed the message to Elena. The photo showed

“Healer Elena, Marcus is with me and the child, so he won’t be coming to your family gathering. Don’t wait in

vain.”

I hit send and waited. Minutes passed without a reply from Elena.
