Chapter 74
Partway down the mountain, the director and his crew came looking for them.
“Thank God you’re safe,” the director exclaimed, wiping sweat from his brow in relief.
The director thought, ‘Caden’s fans aren’t the type to just sit back and watch. If anything happened to him, they’d storm the production set and tear us
apart.‘
Victor gave a slight nod. “I’m fine.”
Seeing that he was still conscious and didn’t seem seriously injured, the director finally let out a sigh of relief. “What are you all standing around for? Get Caden down now. Where’s that stretcher?”
The crew hurried over with a stretcher and carefully lifted Victor off Skylar’s back and onto the stretcher. Then they carried him away.
After descending the mountain, they piled into the car and rushed straight to the local hospital.
Victor grabbed the doctor’s arm urgently. “Please, have someone check on Skylar immediately.”
The doctor noticed the blood stains on Skylar. Assuming she was seriously hurt, he frowned deeply, “You’re this badly injured and didn’t say a word? Are you trying to bleed out or something?”
“Nothing serious. Just a deep cut on my hand. Wrapped it with my shirt, and the bleeding has stopped,” Skylar said, her tone calm and logical.
The doctor raised an eyebrow. “You know medicine?”
“Yes,” Skylar replied.
“So you know how to handle a wound, right?” the doctor asked.
“Yeah, I know how.” Skylar nodded.
The doctor smiled, “Alright, let me tend to your boyfriend first. Why don’t you go find a nurse to have your hand dressed?”
“Doctor, I’m not a child,” Skylar said with a hint of exasperation.
“Alright, I just didn’t want your boyfriend to blame me for leaving you behind without treatment.”
Skylar pressed her lips together and said, “It’s not what you think. He’s my brother.”
“I get it…” the doctor smirked knowingly, his gaze playfully shifting between Skylar and Victor, who was lying nearby.
Skylar wanted to explain, but then thought better of it. He’d already made up his mind. No matter what she said, he wouldn’t believe her. She’d better save her breath.
Seeing Skylar stay silent, the doctor, taking it as confirmation of their relationship, beamed with knowing amusement.
“Young couples are rarely so devoted. I’m a little jealous,” the doctor remarked with a grin.
Skylar managed a smile. “Doctor, please check on my brother right away. He got kicked in the chest by a wild boar. We think he has a broken rib. He needs a CT scan to see if there’s any internal damage.”
The doctor’s eyes lit up. “You’re quite something. Are you interested in working here with us?”
Skylar declined, “Not interested.”
The doctor sighed regretfully, returned to Victor’s bedside, and asked a nurse to wheel him in for a CT scan. The scan revealed a slight fracture in one of

Victor’s right ribs.
Good thing the rib didn’t puncture any organs. Otherwise, not even the best doctor in the world could’ve saved him.
“We can’t perform this surgery here,” the doctor said. “I strongly recommend transferring him to a major hospital in the city as soon as possible.
Skylar promptly arranged Victor’s transfer to a renowned hospital in the city for surgery.
After Victor’s surgery, the anesthesia was still in effect and he remained unconscious.
