Skylar heard footsteps behind her. She knew it was Elianna but pretended not to notice.

Skylar wondered what exactly Elianna was up to by following them.

Skylar talked with Victor about their plans after reaching the mountain, while sneakily glancing at Elianna out of the corner of her eye.

Skylar and Victor stood so close, their heads nearly touching. It looked pretty intimate.

Elianna smirked, thinking, ‘Skylar is so open. Doesn’t she worry about getting torn apart by Caden’s fans?‘

She suddenly had an idea. Dodging the camera crew, she sneakily snapped a few photos and sent them out.

She sent one to Yosef and the other to her agent.

Her agent had worked with Elianna for years and knew her inside out.

Her agent texted: [Should we make a move now?]

Elianna replied: [Not yet. Let’s wait and see.]

After chatting with her agent, Elianna sent another message to Yosef: [Yosef, Skylar is chatting away with someone else and totally ignoring me. Is she still mad at me? What should I do?]

Yosef picked up his phone, frowning as he unlocked it and took a look.

Skylar tilted her head and whispered something to the person beside her. No one could catch what she said. She wore a faint smile on her lips.

That smile inexplicably stung him.

He forwarded the photos to Hudson and texted: [Look into this guy.]

Hudson compiled and organized the gathered information, then sent it over to Yosef.

Hudson texted: [Mr. Campbell, here’s the information you requested,]

Yosef set aside his work and quickly scanned through Victor’s profile.

It was such a thin file, totally useless.

Yosef texted: [Is this everything?]

Hudson replied with certainty: [That’s all. There’s nothing else.]

Yosef tapped his phone lightly with his fingertips, set it aside, and began searching on his computer himself.

Even after multiple attempts, he still couldn’t uncover Caden’s true identity.

Yosef wondered, ‘Is Caden really as powerless as the public thinks?‘

He was lost in thought.

Skylar rubbed her itchy nose, on the verge of sneezing but unable to. It was driving her crazy.

Victor asked with concern, “Are you okay?”

Skylar sniffled hard and said, “My nose feels a bit off, but it’s nothing.“.

Victor asked, “Did you catch a chill while sleeping last night?”

The mountain nights get freezing cold. She could have used two blankets, but she gave one to him, leaving herself with just one. No wonder she was

cold.

Victor said, “Take the extra blanket back and use it tonight.”

Skylar immediately shook her head. “No need. That wouldn’t be appropriate.”

They had deliberately kept their relationship private, so to everyone else, they appeared to be complete strangers.

Two strangers sharing a bed, especially a man and a woman, could easily spark nasty rumors.

Victor gave a slight nod.
