Chapter 166
Chapter 166
416)
Yana instructed the bodyguards to take David to the hospital, leaving some of them at the hospital to keep an eye on Rebecca.
After they left, Yana turned to the crowd and raised her voice in apology. “My sincerest apologies for the disturbance. In a few days, I’ll invite everyone to dinner to make it up to you.”
Everyone was understanding and quickly chimed in to reassure her.
One person said, “Don’t mention it, it was nothing serious.”
Another added, “We really understand, no need to be so formal.”
A third said, “Don’t blame yourselves, it’s those troublemakers who are at fault.”
Though everyone said it was unnecessary, out of courtesy, Yana still arranged for apology gifts to be sent to each household.
Rebecca woke up in the hospital to find herself completely alone.
She tried to get out of bed to check things out, only to find bodyguards stationed at the door.
Rebecca demanded, “Who are you guys? Why are you standing at my door?”
The bodyguards remained silent.
Rebecca tried to leave, but was stopped. “I’m afraid you’re not allowed to leave.”
Rebecca struggled against the guards and shouted, “Let me go! I have to find David. Where have you taken my husband?”
Rebecca thought anxiously, ‘David isn’t in the hospital. Where have those people taken him? If something happens to him, how will I go on?‘
However, no matter how desperately Rebecca screamed and struggled, the bodyguards remained stone–faced. They forcibly escorted her inside, shut the door, and left her to her futile outburst.
David was ultimately convicted of disorderly conduct and detained for ten days.
Throughout his detention, Rebecca was kept in the hospital.
Both of them have been missing for so long, yet Elianna hadn’t made a single move. It was no wonder that Elianna and David were father and daughter, equally cold–blooded and heartless.
The Stone family was now a shadow of its former self and no longer posed any real threat.
Still, Yana couldn’t shake off her unease. Elianna wasn’t exactly stable, she was concerned that she might do something if she lost control.
Skylar instructed Leon to keep a close watch on the Stone family and message her if anything happened. After entrusting the child to her parents, she returned to the film set.
On set, Victor maintained a professional distance from Skylar in public, but as soon as filming ended, he would immediately arrange to meet her in private.
“Skylar, is Adam really your child with Yosef?” Victor’s voice trembled with disbelief. This was the last thing he could accept.
The Campbells and Lamberts had always been bitter business rivals, never seeing eye to eye.
And now, suddenly, they were supposed to be in–laws with the Campbells. He could not possibly stomach that.
Skylar took a sip of water and replied indifferently, “Yes.”

Victor ran his fingers through his hair anxiously. “So, where do things stand between you two now?”
Skylar calmly told Victor, “I was married to Yosef before. Now, I plan to divorce him, get custody of Adam, and then we’ll go our separate wayste
“Thank goodness you’re not some lovestruck fool,” Victor sighed in relief, “Since you’ve already made up your mind, I won’t say more.
