Elianna knew no one would help her. she wanted to escape this situation, she had to rely on herself.

She needed money to act.

That old man was indeed old. When he did those things, he needed to take pills to function. She bribed the servant and increased the dosage. Eventually, the old man died.

She made her escape.

The first thing she did after escaping was seek revenge on the person she blamed for all her misfortunes, Skylar.

Elianna knew Skylar had finally found her child and that the child was her weakness.

As long as she had Adam in her grasp, it was like having Skylar’s lifeline. Whatever she wanted Skylar to do, she would have no choice but to obey.

Elianna slowly wiped away her tears of laughter, her gaze icy. “I want you to be just like me. Humiliated, abandoned, and then die in disgrace.”

Skylar looked at her madness with a slight frown. “Elianna, you’re insane.”

“Yes, I am insane.” Elianna laughed and rolled up her sleeves. “Look at this. This is all because of you. You’re the one who ruined my life.”

“What does this have to do with me?” Skylar replied while assessing the child’s condition.

Judging from his appearance, Adam seemed to be in a coma but not in danger. His exposed skin was still unmarked, so it was likely they hadn’t hurt him.

Elianna said, “If you hadn’t ruined my engagement party, I’d be the admired and envied Mrs. Campbell right now. It’s all your fault because of you. I’m living in hell.”

Skylar chuckled lightly. “Did I force you to do any of those things? You did them yourself. You got exposed, and your reputation collapsed. Everything you’re suffering now is the consequence of your actions.”

Elianna shrieked. “No, it’s not! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be like this. It’s all your fault!”

Compared to Elianna’s hysterics, Skylar remained calm. “You’ve always been like this. Never willing to admit your own mistakes, always blaming others.”

She added, “Sometimes, I actually envy you. It must be nice to be so shameless.”

Skylar tried to buy time, waiting for Yosef to arrive with reinforcements.

“Shut up!” Elianna shouted in humiliation and rage. She took a few steps back and grabbed Adam by the jaw. “If you say one more word, I’ll kill him.”

Skylar immediately showed a nervous expression. “Come at me. Leave Adam out of this.”

Elianna smirked. “Skylar, I knew it. This child is your weakness.”

“Bring it out,” she instructed the thugs.

One of them pulled out a candle, lit it, and placed it in a crack in the floor.

Elianna put on a gas mask and covered herself up completely.

As soon as the candle was lit, Skylar senised something was wrong. There was something in the candle.

Elianna was still just as vicious.

Skylar pulled out a silver needle she always carried and pierced several acupoints on herself. Her clouded mind instantly cleared.

Seeing the thugs closing in, she deliberately put on a frightened expression. “Don’t come any closer.”

The more she acted scared, the happier Elianna got. “What are you waiting for? Strip her and ruin her!”

The thugs were excited. The drugs had flushed their faces red, and that red reached their eyes. They began tearing at their clothes and charged toward Skylar.

Elianna was ecstatic at the thought of seeing Skylar’s downfall.

Just as they got close, Skylar leapt up and kicked one of them. He flew across the room and landed hard, immediately passing out.

When the thugs came closer, Skylar sprang into the air and landed a powerful kick squarely on one of the burly men. The 200–pound thug was sent flying across the room, crashing to the floor. He was knocked out cold.

Elianna was in utter disbelief. That thug had to weigh at least 220 pounds, yet Skylar had just sent him flying with a single kick.

For a long moment, she just stood there, completely stunned, unable to process what she’d just witnessed.

Skylar quickly jabbed the remaining men with silver needles at specific acupoints that caused sudden weakness.

A single prick to these spots instantly sapped their strength, leaving their limbs limp and useless.

Their drugged–up minds couldn’t cope with their powerless limbs, and they collapsed, writhing on the floor like grotesque caterpillars.

Then, Skylar approached Elianna with her needle.

Elianna snapped back and pulled out a knife, holding it to Adam’s neck to stop her from coming closer. “Stay back or I’ll kill him.”

Skylar halted.

Elianna snapped, “How are you still fine? Why didn’t the drug work on you?”

Elianna was furious. “You bitch!”

Skylar’s expression remained calm. “What do you want to let Adam go?”

“You die. Die right now!” Elianna’s emotions boiled over. “As long as you’re dead, I’ll let him go.”

Skylar didn’t even flinch. “If my death means he lives, fine.”

“Of course,” Elianna spat, her eyes wild with obsession. Right now, all she wanted was for Skylar to die.

Skylar said, “I have no tool. How do you want me to die?”

Elianna looked around and tossed the knife at her, gripping Adam tightly. “Use this knife. End your life.”

Skylar pointed the knife toward her chest. “Once I’m dead, you must keep your promise and release Adam.”

However, Elianna planned to send Adam to hell with Skylar once Skylar killed herself.

Elianna sneered. “Do it already. Stop stalling.”

Skylar pretended to stab herself but suddenly flicked her wrist and shot a silver needle straight into Elianna’s hand.
