Millie took a deep breath, steeling herself before reaching for the door.
“Alex, I—” The words caught in her throat the moment she saw who was standing outside. She froze, her whole body stiffening.
Nash, too, seemed momentarily taken aback by the sight of Millie standing there in nothing but a camisole and shorts.
Millie’s expression shifted instantly. She whipped around and hurriedly threw on a robe.
When she turned back, she did her best to appear composed. “Where is he?” she asked, forcing her voice to stay steady.
“Mr. Davidson is tied up with work,” Nash replied coolly. “He said you weren’t feeling well, and since I happened to be nearby, he asked me to take you to the hospital.”
Millie’s hand curled tightly into a fist at her side, her face flushing with embarrassment.
Nash took in the scene and quickly realized she wasn’t really sick; she clearly had something else in mind.
“If you need anything else, just call me,” he said, voice cold and detached, before turning to leave.
Millie watched his retreating back, her face growing hard, eyes darkening with frustration.
Just a secretary, she thought bitterly. How dare he speak to her that way—
Another plan, up in smoke.
She lowered her head and texted Alexander.
[Suddenly feeling much better, so I sent Nash away.]
[When will you have time? Maybe we could grab dinner together, just the two of us.]
She stared at her phone, waiting. No reply came.
With an irritated sigh, she pushed her hair back from her face.
Nathan would be back from overseas soon, and Alexander was busy consolidating his position—he’d be swamped for a while.
She’d hoped they could finally have a frank conversation tonight. After all, their relationship needed to be brought into the open.
But now, she’d have to wait for another chance.

After the satellite launch succeeded and all the data checked out, Danielle and everyone at the Blackwood Research Institute finally breathed a collective sigh of relief.
This was a milestone—they’d pulled it off.
Shortly after, Danielle was summoned to a meeting by the higher-ups.
When she returned, Mr. Hawthorne greeted her with a warm, encouraging smile.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
