Chapter 17
Time quickly came to the evening, Valerie was busy dealing with work when the phone suddenly rang.
She glanced at the incoming call display, saw it was an unfamiliar number, and immediately hung up and blocked it.
In no time, another new unfamiliar number called in, Valerie frowned and hung up his phone again.
The next second, a new message entered the phone.
“Valerie, I have limited patience. If you hang up on me again, I will make sure your company disappears from now on.
Valerie knew that Raymond had this ability, so she could only answer his incoming calls.
“I was downstairs at your company, come down to see me.”
Valerie frowned and still wanted to resist.
“Raymond, we are over, can you let me go?”
“If you don’t come down, I’ll come find you. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, I really miss you.”
Raymond spoke lightly, his meaning clear – he was not willing to let Valerie go.

Valerie had never expected Raymond to be so difficult. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, she had no choice but to go downstairs. As soon as she reached the first floor, she saw Jasper lounging on the sofa.
Seeing her, Jasper got up and walked over.
“Boss, where were you going?”
Valerie’s face changed.
“Someone looked for me, so I went to see him for a moment.”
Jasper glanced at the car parked not far away and raised an eyebrow, “Is that your ex?”
Valerie was taken aback, “You investigated me?”
“Are you my boss? Of course I need to understand you. I have also investigated your former employee, who is quite capable. You hired me but chose to meet him at this time. Are you worried that he might target your company?”
Valerie pursed her lips and said helplessly, “I have just taken over this company not long ago, and everything is still unstable. I can’t let him come and cause trouble.”
After saying that, she turned and walked away, but was stopped by Jasper grabbing her hand.
“If you don’t want to go, then don’t go.”
