The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1268

As evening fell, the sky, heavy with oppressive gray clouds for days, suddenly parted.

The bright, fiery sun clung to the last moments of the day, breaking through the dark clouds with intense force, unleashing a warm, hopeful glow.

On the dreary street, pedestrians, heads bowed, suddenly stopped in their tracks.

One by one, their weary hearts were sparked by the long-awaited light.

The gloom that had hung over the past days seemed to lift, and the people gazed ahead, their eyes fixed on the horizon.

They watched the sun's final, fiery burst as it sank beneath the horizon.

They saw their beloved land, bathed in the brilliant evening light.

This land, stained red with the blood of countless martyrs!

A land that had given life to all who lived here!

This is our home, our land!

How could we allow wolves and tigers to eye it? How could we let pests destroy it?

Robin stepped out of Lord Southmere's war chariot.

Elliott, Maverick, and Brendon followed Robin into the red-tinted sunset.

"Isn't that Master Ramsey?"

"Master Ramsey!"

"Our hero!"

A wave of surprise, joy, and hope erupted along the street in front of the Decision Bureau.

The white snow and golden sunset quickly transformed the scene into a sea of jubilation.

As they watched Robin and his companions' vehicles fade into the distance, the crowd stood still, their faces turned toward the radiant light, staring for a long while.

Only when the powerful general's war chariot disappeared into the glorious sunset did they lower their eyes, each savoring the quiet joy of ordinary life.

Hunger, poverty, disaster, and war could never break a person, a family, or an entire nation.

As long as the seeds of hope and freedom remain, everything will reach toward the sun!

Twenty minutes later, Robin arrived at Westeria Residence.

Once a grand royal palace, the estate now felt cold and lonely, overshadowed by winter's chill and gloom.

The head butler, Harold, rushed to greet them at the entrance. "Master Ramsey, gentlemen, please come inside."

Once they were seated in the sitting room, Harold's face showed clear discomfort. "Master Ramsey, I regret to inform you that Ms. McKay has instructed that she does not wish to see anyone."

He kneeled before Robin. "Master Ramsey, she sustained severe burns on her face and body at Harmonfield.

"Since returning here, she has locked herself away in her room, refusing to meet anyone.

"She has been deeply affected by the ordeal."

Robin lowered his gaze, thinking for a moment, then handed Harold a package containing hot springs water from Dragon Cave beneath the Snow Dragon Pool. "Give this to Catherine. It will help ease her wounds.

"If Catherine doesn't want to see anyone, I won't disturb her.

"I will return later to check on her."

Robin stood to leave, just as Hannibal hurried in from the back hall.

He bowed deeply. "Master Ramsey, the McKay family is deeply indebted to you. Zayn has wronged you in many ways, and the consequences he now faces are entirely his own doing."

Robin glanced at Hannibal, his expression neutral, but Hannibal appeared to have aged a decade since they last met.

"Mr. McKay, let the past stay in the past," Robin said coldly.

"Take care! Catherine needs your support. Life must continue."

On the second floor of Westeria Residence, Catherine watched Robin's chariot fade into the final rays of sunlight, tears falling freely from her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Robin!

"I can no longer follow you impulsively by your side, seeking adventure and justice.

"I must fulfill my grandfather's wishes and stay in this domain.
