The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1206

The Twelve Great Warriors of Dragon Soul, consumed by anger, fell into silence.

After ten minutes, Flint was the first to act. He removed his battle uniform, folding it with care. Then, he placed his officer's credentials, along with his sword and gun, neatly on top of it.

One by one, the others followed—Franco, Spike, Daxton Lindsay, Zaire Tapia—each removing the uniform that had once symbolized their honor.

Jack watched his 11 comrades, the men he had once fought alongside. Half a lifetime had passed, and now they faced a moment of helplessness.

He could see it—the unwavering conviction that had once burned in their hearts was now fading.

For 20 years, they had waited, believing in something that, after the events at Dragon Manor and Snow Valley, had crumbled into nothing.

They had sacrificed for an ideal, fought for a vision, but now they realized it had all been an illusion.

The grand stage they had once stood upon was now occupied by a new cast of performers while the audience remained lost in the drama of triumph and tragedy.

Only when the music stopped and the crowd dispersed did they see the truth—no matter who stood on that stage, every act, every word, every song was nothing more than a performance.

Fame, glory, power—it was all the same. Performers came and went, chasing their ambitions, while the audience waited foolishly for a promised utopia that would never arrive.

Jack sighed and was at a loss for words. How could he tell them to hold on when he was no longer sure if he believed?

"Before Master Ramsey left, he entrusted us with the Dragon Palace. I wanted to convince you all to endure, to stay your hand—but I have no right to ask that of you.

"The honor and disgrace of the Twelve Great Warriors of Dragon Soul are shared. Right or wrong, I'll stand with you. We will fight for Master Ramsey's justice and reclaim the dignity of our generation!"

With that, Jack also removed his battle uniform, took out his officer's credentials, and unsheathed both his sword and gun. With a solemn expression, he placed them carefully on the conference room's front desk.

The Twelve Great Warriors of Dragon Soul assembled in perfect formation before making their exit.

Just as they had done three decades ago, they stepped into the once-glorious hall of heroes.

Standing guard outside the conference room, the guards immediately saluted as they watched the legendary military figures depart.

At the summit of the towering ancient dragon peak, over 12,000 feet above sea level, the wind howled fiercely, and snow blanketed the ground like a vast white carpet.

The Twelve Great Warriors of Dragon Soul reached the entrance, they turned back and gave a respectful salute to the Dragon Palace.

Silent tears streamed down the faces of the seasoned generals.

For 15 minutes, they stood motionless amid the snow-covered peak. Then, without hesitation, they turned and began their descent.

"Wait ... Wait!"

An elderly, frail woman moved toward them, waving her arms and calling out with all her strength.

Levi's wife, Jecintha, leaned on her son Aaron for support as she struggled to walk toward Jack and his group.

"Wait! Let me speak before you leave!"

Jack and Flint quickly stepped forward to assist her. "Mrs. Monroe, if you needed anything, you could've just called us. Why come all the way here in such heavy snow?"

Brushing Aaron's support aside, Jecintha fixed her gaze on Jack and the others. "I was afraid I wouldn't make it in time."

She took a deep breath before continuing, "You must avenge Master Ramsey. That is the duty of every Dragon Palace member!"

Jecintha coughed violently.

"Mrs. Monroe, it's freezing out here. Let's move this discussion to the conference room," Jack urged as he reached out to steady her.
