Selina: "...?" Huh? She got bullied?
Before she could figure it out, a group of people came walking toward her.
They were the same board members who had just been in a meeting with Logan—and they had all heard about Angelica and Manager Wilson confronting Selina. The moment they saw her, they rushed forward, worried.
"Mrs. Reid, are you alright?"
"We should’ve assigned someone to keep an eye on Wilson. Who knew he’d go after you!"
"And Angelica—come on, she knows exactly what kind of person Wilson is. Teaming up with him to pressure you? That’s just unacceptable."
"Exactly. Mrs. Reid seems so gentle... I wouldn’t be surprised if she cried about it in secret..."
Selina: "..."
Now she finally understood why Logan had shown up so quickly.
Logan stepped in front of her, calm and composed. "That’s enough. She’s fine. You all can head back."
The board members nodded one after another. "She must’ve been shaken. Definitely needs some rest. We won’t disturb you any longer."
"Logan, take good care of her. Don’t let her cry alone, alright?"
Selina forced a smile and watched them leave.
Then Logan, ever unhurried, turned to her. "Mrs. Reid, now, how about answering the question?"
Selina blinked. "What question?"
The man lightly pinched her cheek, half-smiling. "Did you cry in secret after being bullied?"
...What kind of question was that?
Selina’s eyes flicked slyly. "And if I did cry, what would you do?"
Logan replied matter-of-factly, "Then I’d make sure whoever made you cry ends up crying too."
Selina gave off that dangerous seductress vibe. "But the one who bullied me was Angelica. If she ends up crying, won’t the Reid Family protect her? What would Mr. Reid do then?"
Logan pretended to ponder seriously. "Then I guess I’ll just have to cut ties with the Reid Family—for the sake of my woman."
Selina blinked, just catching sight of Joe downstairs. "Well, looks like your days of cutting ties are right around the corner."
Logan arched an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Selina said offhandedly, "Joe saw Angelica crying like that. He’ll definitely feel even more sorry for her. Don’t underestimate a father who dotes on his daughter. He’ll probably find a way to make the Reid Family officially recognize the child."
Logan’s expression darkened slightly. "A trade—equity for equity."
If Angelica’s child was born holding 5% of Reid Group shares, then that child would be cemented as an heir. Joe would definitely offer Morris Group stock in exchange for that future.
But...
"It doesn’t matter," Logan said calmly. "Because all of Reid Group’s shares are in Luke’s hands now."
Selina stared at him, shocked. "What?"
"Reid Family has always underestimated Luke," Logan said evenly.
They saw Logan as a threat, Owen as their golden boy, the pride of Reid Group—yet they completely overlooked Luke.
Selina’s eyes gleamed. Then, with a small laugh, she said, "What if... Angelica’s pregnancy isn’t real?"
Logan narrowed his eyes. "Ethan examined her."
"I know a certain drug," Selina said quietly. "It can mimic pregnancy symptoms—but only for about a month."
That drug was supposed to have been destroyed. Where had Angelica gotten it?
Beep. Beep. Beep. Just then, Logan’s phone rang.
He glanced down, and a mocking smirk tugged at his lips. "Mrs. Reid, you guessed right."
Selina peeked at the caller ID: Old Mr. Reid.
