Wolfless, Unbroken Abandoned novel Chapter 35

Charlotte couldn’t explain why she cared so much about Georgia, a girl with nothing to her name. She knew the reason but refused to admit it aloud. Georgia was a mirror reflecting Charlotte’s own lost youth–a quiet comfort to her younger self.

“There’s no need. I’ll eat in the club cafeteria,” Georgia said firmly.

Charlotte shook her head. Most saw Georgia as humble or broken, but beneath the surface lay a stubborn pride no one

noticed.

“You must have been confident once,” Charlotte said gently.

Georgia trembled, silence stretching before she whispered, “Once… that feels like a lifetime ago.”

“Wait,” Charlotte said, pulling a check from her purse. “This is for you. Mr. Wilder asked me to give it to you.”

Georgia’s eyes widened as she read the figure on the check.

“That’s a lot of money,” she breathed.

Charlotte’s smile was tinged with bitterness. “I was shocked too. Georgia, what did you do to earn Mr. Wilder’s

generosity?”

A hundred thousand dollars–that was nearly unheard of at Vetro Club.

“Charlotte, please deposit it for me,” Georgia said, handing the check back.

Meanwhile, Preston rose from the bed and stood before the towering window, watching the world outside in silence.

The cigarette held between his slender fingers burned down, ash falling and singeing his skin.

He flicked it away, then pulled out his phone. “Book a flight to Los Angeles for me. I’m leaving early tomorrow.”

After ending the call, he returned to bed and closed his eyes.

Preston flew to Los Angeles in secrecy. Even Charlotte didn’t know.

Vetro Club was but a small fragment of Preston’s vast empire. He remained here only because of his recent encounter with

Georgia.

As Alpha of the Dark Spike Pack and head of the Hill Group, Preston was a man with no time to waste.

Three days after his departure from Gabbs, Georgia bumped into a familiar face in Vetro Club.

“Why take the stairs when the elevator’s here?” Dominic said with a knowing smirk as he smoked nearby.

The lingering scent of his cigarette drifted toward her.

Georgia blinked, unsure. “Do I know you?”

Dominic laughed softly. “What? You already forget me?”

He reached toward her face, eyes tracing her lips–dry and lacking life.

The memory of their kiss surged back, stirring a hunger to taste her again.

What was happening? What did he want?

Suddenly, a cough shattered the moment.
