His Unwanted Mate novel Chapter 9

"Five years old!" They both said in unison again. Kylie and I laughed.

"Are you guys going to help us make cookies for Santa?" I asked them, and they nodded their heads excitedly.

"Yeah!" They both said happily.

"They're Dylan's little sisters," Kylie explained. I nodded, remembering that Dylan had told me about them once. It's kind of odd that I'm meeting them just now though. When I looked at them, I noticed the similarities. They all had the same raven's black hair, tan skin, and bow shaped lips. Dylan had blue-green eyes which was one of the only differences.

"Okay, then let's get started!" Kylie said, making both girls cheer. Kylie and I both helped the girls make the dough for the sugar cookies, and then they used cookie cutters to make various Christmas shaped cookies, like Christmas trees, stars, angels, teddy bears, and Santas. While they were doing that, Kylie and I quickly made gingerbread cookie dough and used gingerbread men cookie cutters. Kylie and I then placed all the cookies onto cookie trays and put them into the oven.

"How about you guys go make cards for Santa while we wait for the cookies to bake," I suggested. The girls nodded happily headed into the living room. Kylie and I brought out all the stuff they would need, which included various colored paper, glue, safety scissors, and glitter. They happily started on their cards and Kylie and I headed back into the kitchen to make hot cocoa. As we made the hot cocoa, Kylie spoke.

"So Dylan told me that you're going to join our pack after New Years," Kylie said. I nodded.

"Yup," I confirmed.

"Yay!" Kylie said, giving me a tight hug, making me laugh.

"Kylie, can't breathe," I said. She quickly released me, laughing.

"Oops, sorry!" Kylie said, and we both laughed. We finished making the cups of hot cocoa and brought two of the cups to Sapphire and Jade.

"Thank you," they said in unison. That seriously must be a twin thing. I went upstairs and brought down all the gifts I had for everyone. Even though I hadn't known the twins personally before, Dylan had told me that I would meet them by Christmas. He had told me their names already, and I got each of them a gift. I headed back downstairs, placing the gifts under the large Christmas tree. It had tons of lights and decorations, and also had the gifts under the tree. I heard the timer go off and Kylie and I went back into the kitchen to take the cookies out. Dylan came down, taking one of the cookies directly off the cookie tray before we could place all of them on the cooling racks.

"Of course!" Dylan exclaimed, making the twins cheer. We all sat down at the large center island and decorated cookies, but the twins decorated most of them. By the time we were all done, it was almost 9:00p.m. The twins wet both tired, and were basically falling asleep. Dylan picked both of them up and started heading out of the kitchen.

"Eden! Will you make sure to put out a warm glass of milk for Santa and make sure you put out the best cookies Jade and I decorated?" Sapphire asked sleepily as she barely kept her eyes open.

"Of course," I said, smiling. The twins smiled sleepily and nodded before resting their heads on Dylan's shoulders. Kylie and I placed a warm glass of milk and some cookies by the fireplace like the twins had asked. Kylie and I then sat down with cups of hot cocoa, waiting for Dylan. We also made him one, leaving it on the coffee table. Dylan then came downstairs and sat down on the other side of me, grabbing his cup of hot cocoa. We all sat in a comfortable silence as we finished our cocoa. Kylie was the first to finish, so she stood and stretched.

"Well, I'm tired. I'm going to sleep, see you guys in the morning," Kylie said as she headed upstairs after putting her cup in the kitchen. I finished my cocoa, and was about to get up and leave when Dylan spoke.

"Hey, do you mind staying with me until I finish my hot chocolate?" He asked. I nodded, sitting back down. I was pretty tired, so I ended up falling asleep.

I was woken up from the feeling of being carried. I slowly opened my eyes, seeing that Dylan was carrying me upstairs to my room. All of a sudden, something popped up into my head. Dylan hadn't found his mate yer, and neither had Kylie.
