Hiding His Alpha Twins novel Chapter 48

Alex’s POV

I wake up in a daze, my senses slowly returning to me. The first thing I notice is the overwhelming feeling of restriction. I try to move, but it's as if I'm being held down. Panic rises within me as I try to call upon my wolf, but there's nothing. It's like a part of me is missing, leaving me feeling vulnerable and weak.

I squint, trying to adjust to the darkness that surrounds me. The putrid stench of urine and mould fills my nostrils, making me gag with disgust. Where am I? How did I end up in this wretched place? I don't remember anything, my memories hazy and fragmented, but my head throbs with pain, a constant reminder of my dire situation.

I raise my hand to touch my aching head, only to be met with the chilling sound of metal rattling with every movement. Confusion gives way to realization as I feel the cold, unforgiving grip of chains around my wrists and ankles. I'm chained up. My heart sinks as I understand that I must be in the cell block of my own palace, a prisoner in my own kingdom.

Anger surges through me, and I shout, my voice reverberating off the walls. "Get me out of here! I am the king! Who dares to do this to me?" But my words fall upon deaf ears, coming back to me as nothing more than echoes in the bleakness.

Fear grips me. What have they done to Catarina and the twins? My family, my everything. A sinking feeling settles in my chest as I realize that they may be in danger too. I must find a way to escape, to protect them at all costs.

Suddenly, the door swings open, and three figures enter the dank cell. They move with an unnerving confidence, their faces obscured by the shadows. My heart pounds in my chest as a sinister voice speaks, dripping with malice. "So, King Alex, are you ready to meet your end?" The other two laugh, their taunting laughter ringing in my ears.

I narrow my eyes, refusing to let fear consume me. "Who are you and what do you want?" I growl, my voice laced with determination. I will not let these fool’s win. If only I had access to my wolf's power, I would rend them to shreds and feed them to the wolves.

The leader of the pack smirks, his voice filled with smugness. "It seems I hit you a little too hard, King Alex. As for your queen and the heirs, you don't have any business concerning yourself with them." In one swift motion, he reaches out and grabs me by the throat, his grip like ice. The force of it sends me crashing down to the unforgiving ground.

Rage surges within me, fuelling my every word. "You better not have harmed them, or your life will come to a swift and brutal end," I hiss, my eyes gleaming with a fire that matches the fervour burn within my soul. I may be tied down and temporarily weakened, but a true king doesn't rely solely on physical strength.

In that moment, a glimmer of hope flickers deep within me. They underestimate me, blind to the strength that lies dormant within my being. My wolf may be suppressed, but my will to protect and fight for what is mine burns hotter than ever before.

"I am not alone," I declare, raising my voice with an unwavering conviction. "Within the hearts of my pack, and the loyalty of my allies, lies a force that cannot be extinguished. The bonds we share transcend any physical restraints. We will rise, united, and together we will bring this darkness upon you."

The leader's smirk falters, a faint shadow of doubt crossing his eyes. It is a small victory, but it fuels my determination further. I may be locked away, straining against these chains, but my spirit remains unyielding.

As they prepare to leave, confident in their perceived victory, I allow a wry smile to dance across my lips. They may believe they hold all the cards, but little do they know that I am playing a game far more complex than they can comprehend. This confinement is not the end, but rather the catalyst for my triumphant rise.

In the depths of my imprisonment, the spark of rebellion flares to life. I am King Alex, and I will not be silenced. The battle for my kingdom has only just begun.
