“Jonas really gave you a Hello Kitty private jet?” I ask Perry as we walk through the construction site.

“He is spoiling the hell out of you, and here I am arguing with Knight about an ex,” I scoff.

“He apologized, but I had to tell him why he should,” I roll my eyes.

“You’re right. He’s an idiot, but you’re going to have to tell him when he’s doing something wrong. Me too, actually,” she says, scratching her head.

“What do you mean?”

“Where is Aizen?”

“With Uncle Elliot. They’re playing with Jason and Mr. Happy,” she points back the way they came.

“Cool. What are you two up to?”

“I want to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure with Aunty on my computer, please.”

“Oh, yes, please.” Perry pops up next to me. “You can hang out with-” she motions Knight dismissively. “This thing. I can watch Tiny Knightly for a while.

“Me? That’s me?” Ayrie beams.

“Yes, unfortunately,” Perry grins. Knight shoves her head, and the two of them engage in a smacking competition. I growl at the two of them, making

“Is funny when is not me,” she laughs.

“Get out of here,” Knight glares at Perry. She scoops Ayrie up and pushes her up. Ayrie doesn’t hesitate to climb onto her shoulders.

“I got Hangyodon, Auntie. I’ve been busy with my new books.”

“I’ve been busy with work. I don’t have him yet, so you’re going to have to help me.” Perry sighs.

“Was the last time we played where you left off?”

“I saw the Christmas gift your dad got her. She’s not the only one we need to worry about. They’re all corrupting her.”

“With the way she likes to talk shit, she doesn’t need anyone’s help,” he laughs and looks around. That is straight facts. Ayrie loves roasting people. “What are you doing in here?”

“Perry was supposed to give me a tour, but Ayrie said Hello Kitty, and she forgot. Want to go into town? They have these little pancake balls filled with Nutella. I really need some like right now.”

“Let’s go,” he says, taking my hand. “Let me get my keys.”

“I got mine.” I take them out of my pocket. “I was going to take Perry so she gets out of the house while she’s here.” I pull them back when he reaches for them. “Ah. I’ll drive.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I want to. I haven’t in a while, If you spoil me the way Jonas does Perry, I will kick you,” I warn him. He laughs at my stupid threat.

“You missed her,” he says once we leave the house

“Yeah, it’s weird to think that I have siblings. The more I get to know them, the more attached I get. It’s never happened to me before. I always thought the only unconditional love I’d have would be for the twins. Everyone else comes and goes.”

“You can go see her whenever you want, you know that, right?”

“I do not have the confidence to just pop up on her the way she does,” we both laugh. “I was surprised she asked this time.
