This entire ordeal was a waste of time. The anger I feel is pointless and wasted on these stupid people. The worst part is that now I don’t have anywher to put it. I feel like hitting something, but I think that’s just Midnight upset with how these people tried to brush off what their kids did, just because we re

rogues.

“You ever hear of being the bigger person?” the alpha king asks.

“You ever hear the story about the Rogue Queen that broke the Alpha King’s front teeth?” I shoot back without thinking.

Knight tries to hold in his laugh just after taking a drink of his water and fails. He tries to spit it back into the glass, only to blow out the water of the cup, blasting it everywhere. I stare at him with disbelief. The entire left side of my outfit and face are now wet, making him laugh that much more.

“You two fucking suck.” Savage sighs.

“Why are you even here?” I growl. I take my scarf from my purse to blot the water away.

“Because I know what you are and how you react to this shit. I have a little sister I’ve been protecting since she was born, and I would have killed all these idiots if it were her who had gotten beat up the way Aizen was,” he growls back. Some of the pack members who are still packing up their shit glance in our direction. “You’re going to start a war between us, Phoebe.”

“Are you expecting me to just roll over and play dead for the shit your people are doing?”

“What do you want me to do?”

“Fix this. Make an example out of them. You’re the king for fuck sake.”

“There are laws-”

“You can change the fucking laws, Derek!” I shout. His eyes zero in on me, and the entire room goes silent.

“Don’t. Ever. Call. Me. By. My first name. Ever. Again,” he growls lowly.

“Or what? Are you going to use that to try and start a war with us, too?” I scoff. “Why are you really here? What did the DNA test say?”

The alpha King stares at me annoyed because I’m pretty sure that Perry wasn’t insane when she started rambling off about our shared father being a little man slut. He reaches into his pocket and hands me a folded sheet of paper. I open it up and scan the results to find that this man really is my brother. He lifts the other end of the paper and taps the name at the top. We both stare at one another for a while.

“So, what are the results?” Knight takes the paper. “Oh, shit.”

“Wait, what the fuck does that mean?” I ask.

“It means that we share the same mother and that she left you with your fake parents and started a new life somewhere else. My father is the former King. My mother wasn’t my mother, nor was she Mel’s mother either.”

“What? Is she also our sister?”

“Yeah,” he rubs the bridge of his nose frusteratedly. I’m running DNA tests on all my siblings.”

“What the fuck is happening?” I ask.

“I don’t know, but she has to still be alive somewhere,” he shrugs.

“Could this have been one of those someone stole her eggs and stored them away for weird bloodline bullshit scenarios”

“I didn’t consider that,” he sighs. “I came here today because of Melody. She’s here with my brother. I think she’s going to be like us.”

“What do you mean she’s going to be like us? Why would she be?”

“Because.” he sits back in his chair and looks away. “I found these videos in my mother’s things. She was subjecting Met to intense training, And Lin questioned Mel. She doesn’t remember anything. I’ve been testing her agility, and it checks out. Like your wolf’s memory thing.”

“How do you know about that?”

“We’re the same kind of wolf,” he glares at me.

“Okay, asshole. Just because we’re the same kind doesn’t mean we’re the fucking same. I’m literally a woman. The rules are different, and if you’ve been studying what we are, you know we are.”

“Can I see the results for Melody?” Knight asks him.

“What for?”

“So we can come up with a training schedule and nutrition plan. Ayrie is as particular about food as Phoebe. I’d also like to ask some questions about you for my son. He’s kind of difficult to provide for because he just agrees with everything Ayrie wants. There’s not a lot on male silverbacks other than how to kill them.”

“Thank you,” Savage says after a while. “That would be very helpful. She’s lost a lot of weight and has been down. I don’t know how to take care of her, and she hates having the servants around.”

“Ayrie likes to be alone, especially in dim lights. She prefers meat over anything else, and cheese is her go–to snack. Don’t give her candy after six; she’ll be up all night. If she’s hyperfixated on something, let her be. It’s how she self soothes. I don’t know why, but neutral colors make her sad. Grays, beige, white. She hates them. I did too when I was a kid.”

“Her room is just neutral colors. My mother had it that way,” he closes his eyes.

“Can i see her?”

“Are you going to be fucking rude to her too?”

“The only reason I’m rude to you is because you’re

e fucking mean. I never did anything wrong to you.”

he growls lowly.

“Your parents deserved it,” I say calmly. “For what they did to my kids, and you’re lucky that our wolves didn’t take more. And they cleaned out the corruption in your entire governing setup.

“You’re just mad that all that shit was happening under your nose without you knowing, and you’re taking it out on us for discovering it. You’re the one who needs to fix his attitude. We’re only your enemies because you want us to be.”

He looks away without saying a word. The doors where we came from open up, and Ace comes through them with Melody in his arms. As soon as she sees Savage, her tired eyes light up a little–the same way Ayrie’s do when she’s been away from Aizen for too long.

“Hey,” she points at me. “Ayrie’s mommy.”

“Hi, sweetness,” I smile at her.
