Fleeing the Nightmarish Father novel Chapter 107

SAAFIA’S POV:-

“Mister Dariel Cannedy had declined the accusation openly that none of it was real, neither news nor those pictures and this incident is now regarded as a fake attempt by his rival to degrade him.”

The TV was on where the news was being played.

I held a scowl on my features, sitting on the couch with my legs crossed and a never ending grimace on my face.

“Tsk,”

How I thought I would surprise Dariel but everything went towards a terrible path and I saw no single hint of delight on his face.

“We can see how low humanity has fallen that they no longer care about people’s sentiments and can become vile only to hurt others. Also to be careful, technology has gone too far.”

They continued, clutching my dress, my excitement was also murdered, placed by a constant sting in my chest.

“I can’t believe Helder would go this low to humiliate me publicly and for what? Why is he doing all this?” I growled.

Displeased with how my perfect life was turned upside down.

“On knowing further, we have come to know that Mr. Cannedy is filing defamation case on those who would attempt to degrade his woman,”

Everything felt mystic, as if we were supposed to greet in such a charming way and now, it was Sunday as I was anxiously waiting for Dariel.

“Is that true?” Sarah asked in disbelief, taking a seat.

It was evening, she just returned from her work. I had cooked dinner which she served. I had lost my appetite since Dariel was absent.

“Yes,” I nodded, eating my cook with a smeared mood, having no idea when Dariel would return to take me.

‘If’ he would or not. Was he happy or not?

“Setting an example that a man could do anything only to protect the dignity of his women. Respect is no joke, one should treasure it.”

Sighing, I turned off the news, relieved at least that they won’t call me a cheater, and won’t humiliate me for a crime I never committed.

I believe I didn’t.

“Wow, I can’t believe he is chasing all of them one after another for hurting you,”

Sarah smirked as I was hissing after turning off the TV and rubbing my temples from distress.

His lack of reaction, negligence was disturbing me. If he was that concerned and shutting everyone there where was he?

“You should have expected that from him, he would do this. He does care about his foes, those who piss him off, he makes them pay,” I mumbled, in these months, I had understood his nature that much.

Unless I whined to forgive, he would make his enemies regret their actions.

Was he making me pay too?

He gave me no explanations, no details, just vanished so I could be tormented with my delusions.

I had no idea what had been going through his mind.

“And here I thought he learned how to forgive and be compassionate because of you,”

Sarah sighed as the doorbell rang and he opened only to find Dariel there only to greet me with a taunt which only ruined my mood more.

“I did. I forgave Veronica, Jared and Helder, I placed all hatred behind because of her and what happened?”

He was in his casual clothes, wet hair if he took a shower, enhancing his arresting features.

Resting his hand in his pocket, he came and sat beside me, shifting his hand behind my head, ensuring to place me pressed against his strong body.

“Hey,” He smiled only to receive my glare.

How could he smile after distressing me until I became weak and disturbed?

After reacting nonchalantly after knowing the good news?

After leaving me all alone!?

“Everyone except for Jared proved it to be a wrong decision and here we are back to the foundation of our bond where I believe that forgiveness is not always right. Look who was right after all?”

Judging the amount of hatred he had been carrying all this time, Helder had no cure for this resentment. He won’t stop until he makes Dariel suffer.

“And all this time, I kept you here, I wanted to know. Yes, you fainted and he did all this. He… changed your clothes and spread those pictures.”

He explained to me with a growl, clenching his hand in a fist to fathom how dared he to do this to me.

I knew I was unconscious. How could I possibly cheat on my Dairel?

“I cannot believe he fell that low for something your Mother did.” I breathed out, blinking to fathom what a complicated family he had.

“When you become too blind in hatred, you see nothing, Saafia. He is incurable,” He muttered, distress also crept on his features.

“Only if your Mother had….”

But, to think about it, his abhorrence evoked from Mrs. Cannedy’s negligence. She discarded her child that caused him to become horrible.

“Don’t blame it on her.” He frowned, rolling his eyes.

“We know nothing yet. Why did she do this? Why did she marry my Father if she was already in a relationship with Uncle Harry? I know nothing,”

He shrugged his shoulders, not wanting to create a judgment without knowing why she did that in the first place.

“Did you ask him?” I asked innocently. He shook his head in denial.

“His tale would be one-sided only. His Father could explain more details than him. Get ready, we are going to meet my Uncle to end this years of hatred.”

Announcing, he rose from his seat after feeding me dinner and placing the plate down.

I tilted my head in confusion, “Am I going along?”

“Of course.” He smiled beautifully, taking my hand in his large hand to kiss my knuckles that made my heart skip a beat.

Emerging an in-depth expression of love that stiff me as he continued.

“You are my compassionate partner, each step I will take in my life, I will with you so get ready, my love, I am here to take you home so we could unveil my past,”
