Chapter 118
Mason
Isla Donatello. This fucking girl. She’s been my obsession ever since the first day of high school when I had first met the triplets. Kaiden and Hunter have been my best mates since then, but I’ve always tried to keep Isla at a distance. How could I possibly tell them that I want to cherish the ground she walks on like a fucking dog following its master? I’ve seen the way they try to protect her from our world, how her three fathers try to protect her and how they all would slaughter anyone who dares to try and touch her. I love her. I love her dimples, and her eyes, I love the way she walks around like fire couldn’t burn her. The way she laughs and how she scrunches her nose when she’s mad. Everything about her captivates me, but she thinks I’m just some asshole who’s helping her brothers hold her captivate in a castle.
I was a part of the meeting with her parent’s and brother’s where they were all discussing their concerns about her picking a different career class from Hunter. Everyone had assumed they would be lawyers together, in the same classes and everything would be fine, but no, Isla had her own dreams, and she was determined to make her path in life. I had raised my hand to offer to change classes to watch over her. It made everyone feel a lot more comfortable. Being a Mafia Princess, she has lots of enemies she wasn’t even aware of and even though we were in a well–protected school, there would always be the lingering fear that someone would try to take her to use against the family. Her father’s, Don especially was very thankful and immediately started the paperwork for the transfer.
“Are you sure, man? You know that’s one of the harder classes to take and you don’t seem very…” Kaiden said once the meeting was over.
“Very what?”
“Gentle. Hunter finished.
“Yeah, well, someone’s got to look out for her.”
The truth was that I hated the idea of taking that class and becoming a doctor. It would be harder work than I’d ever faced in the gym or working with my hands, but it gave me the opportunity to be closer to her without her brothers. I knew it was wrong, that I should keep her at a distance, but I didn’t even think before I was offering myself for the job. I just did it. Now here I am, with a stack of homework on the first day of school and not a single fucking clue what to do with it. It’s a good thing her room is just down the hall from mine and Hunter had said she would be helping me with it. I’d been staying at the triplet’s house for four years now, after my parent’s died, Don offered to take me in and Donna had continued to raise me like her own, while their dad’s trained me alongside Hunter and Kaiden to be the made men we are today. On our eighteenth birthdays we were sworn in, mine being just a week before the triplets so Donna threw a party together to celebrate. It was a massive thing, but all I remember about that night is the way Isla looked like a bloody angelic goddess in her white dress that hugged all her curves and flowed around her like a real life princess. Ugh, I’ve got to get my boner in check, I think to myself, adjusting my dick into my waist band and knocking on her bedroom door.
“What?” The door swings open and she stands there with her hand on her hip. Cute, fluffy white bed shorts and a grey singlet, no bra, and her nipples peeking through the strands of her long black hair that flows down to her waist.
“Uh… I hold up the study books. Fucking words, Mason, come on!
She rolls her eyes and holds the door open for me.
‘You don’t want to maybe study downstairs?”
‘Nope‘, she says, popping the ‘p‘ and throwing herself onto her stomach on the bed where she already has her books spread out.
“Alright then.“*
Isla.
Mason awkwardly sits on the edge of my bed. His large frame is stiff in his suit, and he looks completely uncomfortable in my space and lost with every medical term I spit out at him.
“Okay look, if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do this my way.”
His eyebrow lifts slightly, but his stone–cold face remains relatively the same. I swear he might be a robot.
“Jacket and shoes off.”
He doesn’t move.
“Ugh, come on! How are you going to learn anything if you can’t even be comfortable. Jacket and shoes, now!”
