Violent Little Thing (Lily and Luciano) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117

“Isla. Sebastion says without lifting his head or stopping his fingers from typing.

Hey Seb. How are you?”

“Busy. Tired. Buzzed.” He clips out.

“Great…so…”

“I got Xanax. $50 a pop.”

I slide over a stack of cash.

“Give me everything you got.”

He takes a quick look at the cash before sliding it into his pocket and handing me back a bag of pills.

“Thanks man. I appreciate it.”

And I appreciate the new tech you just bought me. Now off with you.”

I don’t know much about him, but he doesn’t seem like the rest of the stuck–up spoilt kids here. We met in the first year here when someone spilled a drink on his laptop in the cafeteria and everyone laughed at him. When he didn’t come to school with a new one the next day, I thought it was odd. Our parents have to have money for us to be here. So, I bought him a new one on the third day and in return, he gave me a bag of pills. That’s how we quickly became friends. If you can call it that. I don’t know, but it works in both our favors.

I skip off to the bathroom and down a pill, shoving the rest into a little bag that I keep pads and tampons in. The one place the boys never look. I sit on the counter and scroll for a while, texting Mia in between to let her know what happened after the party got shut down. Mia doesn’t go here, no, unfortunately she goes to a normal school, for normal kids because that’s what she is. Normal. She lives across the road from us, always has, and my parents thought it would be oh so lovely so me to have normal friends so I could pretend harder that I’m not a part of the mafia. The bell rings and I slide my phone into my bag, feeling a lot lighter on my feet now, I hurry off to my first class.

I find a seat at the back of the class, there’s only about thirty or so of us taking the medical degree course, so the large room has a lot of spare seats. I pull out my laptop and set it up alongside my drink bottle and note pad, watching as the teacher settles into his chair at the front.

Good morning, class, and welcome. I’m Mr Halden and I..”

The sound of the door opening interrupts him. Every set of eyes settling on the large figure entering the room. He doesn’t acknowledge Halden or the number of people staring, no, his eyes slam into mine and he strides purposefully to the back of the room and takes the seat beside me. Pulling out his things casually and crossing his arms as he looks forward.

‘Like I was saying. I’m Mr Halden, and you all are here to get somewhere in the medical field. So, let’s begin.” He claps his hands and turns to the smart board.

MasonI grumble out low.

“Oh, hey Princess, didn’t see you there.

What the fuck are you doing here, Mason?

Me? Oh, I’ve decided I want to be a doctor.”

Wow, what a coincidence.” I mock.

He shrugs his shoulders, and I turn my attention back to Halden. I don’t want to miss anything important. Becoming a surgeon is my ticket to freedom and I’m going to work myself to the bone to get it.

The first half of the day goes by without a hitch, well, if you don’t include Mason being a part of my classes now. The bell sounds for recess and considering we’ll be coming back here after for one more period I don’t bother packing up my things. No one would dare or need to steal in this school.

‘Hey, IslaMason speaks as I’m just out of my chair.
