Chapter 706
Back at Rosary Estates, Teresa showered after putting Michael to bed. Standing before the mirror in her nightgown, she noticed how much her belly had grown. Wearing anything tight now would make it even more obvious.
She had thought it over. She would keep her second pregnancy a secret. She was already done talking to Jonathan
Just as Teresa was about to sleep, the doorbell rang, making her heart skip. A peek through the peephole and camera showed who
it was. She rolled her eyes, refusing to answer, but Jonathan rang insistently again.
Not wanting to wake Michael, Teresa quickly threw on a loose, long coat before opening the door
Jonathan, carrying a bag of food, tried to step inside but found Teresa blocking his way at the doorway.
He’d been drinking again, Teresa wouldn’t miss the smell of alcohol on him.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow, looking at her. “I brought some snacks for Mike,” he said.
“Mike is asleep. Just take the food back for yourself, Teresa replied.
Jonathan insisted, “These are for Mike, not for you.”
Only then did Teresa notice the bag he was holding. It was from the macaron shop. She loved macarons, but Michael never cared
for them.
Teresa said, “Mike won’t even eat what you bought. Don’t wake him up, okay? Just go. I won’t see you out.”
“Still mad at me?” Jonathan asked.
“Why would I be mad?” Teresa retorted.
Jonathan studied her face intently. “Are you mad because I’m going to sue Jennifer?” he asked.
Teresa sneered, “I’m past caring now. Go ahead and sue whoever you want as long as you’re happy.”
Jonathan frowned impatiently and added, “Let me in first. We need to talk.”
“Just say it at the door,” Teresa said coldly.
Jonathan declared, “I’m coming in to talk.”
The two stood their ground for a moment.
“Fine, come in,” Teresa finally relented.
Teresa thought, ‘Before, I hid Mike from him, but now the secret is out. There’s nothing left to hide. Mike’s things are all over the
table. Let him look if he wants.’
Jonathan realized he couldn’t remember the last time he’d set foot inside this door.
Whenever he wanted to come in for a bit, Teresa would turn him away. Back then, he hadn’t given it much thought.
Jonathan settled onto the sofa, picked up the glass of water from the table, and took a sip to clear his throat. Then he said coolly, “If Jennifer resigns voluntarily, I can drop the lawsuit against her.”

Teresa sat across from him and replied coldly. “Suit yourself. Whether you sue her or not, it’s none of my business anymore.
