Chapter 705
Teresa gently held Michael’s small hand and said softly. “Now you can choose to love with me or with your dad. Isn’t that a fair arrangement?”
Michael tilted his head and said, “Since I’m always Mr. Lime’s son, doesn’t that mean you and he should live together?”
Michael thought. “Mom and Dad are supposed to live together, aren’t they?”
Teresa’s eyes suddenly welled up with tears. In her child’s innocent eyes, it all seemed so simple, but she just couldn’t bring herself
to say yes
‘Not all mommies and daddies could live together again, she thought to herself.
Michael looked up and asked, “Mommy, why aren’t you talking?”
Teresa snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head.
“I’m not his wife anymore, and he’s not my husband. We can’t keep living together. If you want to visit him, you can always go and stay with him. That’s the best arrangement we can have,” Teresa replied.
Meanwhile, Jonathan was at a business dinner.
His phone rang. Jonathan glanced at the caller ID, frowned, then stood up and walked to the window to take the call.
“I’ve dropped Mike off at home,” Gary said.
“I know,” Jonathan replied.
Gary stopped Jonathan as he was about to hang up and asked, “Are you planning to sue Jennifer, your ex–wife’s sister?”
This time, Gary deliberately emphasized those last few words, making sure the familial connection was clear.
Jonathan remained silent for a moment, then said coolly, “I know what I’m doing.”
“Alright, as long as you know what you’re doing. I won’t interfere. I hid Mike’s identity, too. She’s your ex–wife’s sister. I’m worried. that if you take her to court, that’ll ruin any chance of reconciliation.”
The message was clear. If Jonathan went ahead with the lawsuit, he could forget about ever being welcomed back into the Johnston family.
Jonathan cut him off impatiently and added, “I said I know what I’m doing.” Then he hung up abruptly.
“Mr. Lynn,” one of the businessmen at the table said as he poured him some wine. “is everything alright? Why do you look so Blum?”
Jonathan downed a glass of wine in one gulp and muttered, “Women troubles,”
Thinking about Teresa and Michael at home, Jonathan knew Michael was his son, but he had no legitimate right to go over. The thought left him so frustrated that he could barely breathe.
Custody was still with Teresa, and besides, if he showed up, she’d surely give him the cold shoulder.

That man chuckled as he topped up Jonathan’s glass and continued, “Mr. Lynn, with your wealth and infidence, am me desire would be within easy reach, Shall I arrange some company for you tonight?”
“No need,” Jonathan waved him off and said. “I’ve sworn off women.”
