Chapter 719
Teresa, who hadn’t eaten all day, slowly sipped the soup. Jonathan had cooked it to perfection.
“Try the foie gras I made,” Jonathan said, using his fork to serve her some. He wasn’t in a

eat himself.
Michael raised his arm. “Mr. Daddy Lime, I want
The tool”
“You little rascal,” Jonathan chuckled, making sure to serve Michael as well. He had to look after all three of them. “Is it good, Mike?”
“It’s so good!” Michael gave a big thumbs–up. “It tastes way better than last year’s, like, ten times better.”
Jonathan’s eyes flashed with guilt. Last year, he hadn’t even known Michael was his son. They’d only met a handful of times, and yet Michael had been craving his cooking ever since.
“From now on, I’ll cook for you and your mom all the time, okay?” Jonathan said gently.
“That’s awesome!” Michael threw both his little hands up in joy. Looking at this warm, cozy scene, he suddenly realized how rare moments like this were. It had been so long since he’d felt this happy.
“Have some too, Mr. Lime,” Michael said, clumsily picking up some food for Jonathan with his little fork.
Jonathan thanked him and said, “The chicken soup should be ready. I’ll go check on it.” He’d just made a small bowl.
“Let Mom have this bowl first, okay? You can have some of the other dishes,” Jonathan told Michael.
Teresa was already full. She really couldn’t drink another drop.
“Just a little more. The doctor said you need more nutrition. I made sure it’s not fishy at all. Give it a try, okay?” Jonathan coaxed.
Teresa thought she couldn’t eat another bite, but after a sip of the soup, she had to admit that Jonathan really knew his way around the kitchen. Before she realized it, the little bowl was empty. Now she was really stuffed.
As Jonathan started clearing the tableware, Teresa rolled up her sleeves and headed to the kitchen. She wanted to do the dishes to thank him for cooking.
“Go sit down, you don’t need to do this,” Jonathan said, and then glanced at Michael, who was helping clear the tableware. “Dad’s got this. Take Mom to watch some TV for a bit.”
“Yes, sir!” Michael replied obediently, always quick to listen to Jonathan.
After the kitchen was spotless, Jonathan saw Michael napping on Teresa’s lap. He gently scooped Michael up and said to her, “I’ll take him to his room.”
As Jonathan carried him, Michael snuggled against his shoulder, leaving a little trail of drool on Jonathan’s shirt.
After making sure Michael was settled, Jonathan closed the door and walked toward Teresa, who was still sitting on the couch. He sat down across from her. “We need to have another talk.”
“About what?” Teresa asked.
“First, about Mike. My whole family knows now Grandpa, my mom, even Werner and his family. Everyone’s in the loop.”
Ever since Jonathan found out Michael’s identity, Teresa had known it was only a matter of time before Irene and the rest of his family found out too.
