Teresa still wasn’t having it. She had her own life, and she didn’t think she was so weak that she needed to lie around at home all day.

“I’m not saying you have to stay home all the time. I’m not trying to restrict your freedom, I just want to take better care of you, Jonathan said.

“It’s just that there’s not enough room for a maternity nanny here, and everything is inconvenient. If you really don’t want to, Fean arrange for you to stay at a maternity center.”

“No, thanks. I don’t need a maternity center. I’m fine staying here,” Teresa replied.

Jonathan sighed, “Who did you inherit this stubbornness from? You’re really driving me crazy.” He just tried to make things easier for her, hoping she could be more comfortable.

Teresa said, “It’s not about being stubborn. If I move into your house, have you thought about what your mom would think if she came over and saw me there? Or what other people might say?”

“What, worried the rumors will mess up your shot at a new romance?” Jonathan raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with jealousy.

“I’m just afraid I’ll get in the way of you moving on,” Teresa shot back. “Aren’t you supposed to be marrying Ms. Kelly?”

“I’ve already got two kids. Why would I even think about marrying her? Besides, I have zero interest in her,” Jonathan said.

“She’s from a prominent family, and she even went to visit your grandpa. Isn’t your mom really into her?” Teresa pressed.

Jonathan felt another wave of frustration. His brows knit together. ‘Why does it always come back to my mom? I’m not some mama’s boy, he thought..

“Let’s not get sidetracked. We’re talking about where you’re going to live. If you want to stay at Rosary Estates for now, then I’ll just move in here with you,” Jonathan said.

Teresa was left speechless.

“So, either you move in with me, or I move in here, or we both go back to Luviston Estates,” Jonathan continued.

“Hold on,” Teresa said, completely baffled. “Luviston Estates was our wedding home. We’re divorced, and now you want us to move back there? That’s not a real choice. You’re not giving me any options at all.”

“Fine, I’ll move in here. I’ll arrange for the maternity nannies to handle the cooking and cleaning, but they won’t be staying overnight,” Jonathan said, taking a step back. “That’s settled for now.” He glanced at the time. “I’ll head back for now and move in tomorrow.”

Teresa frowned, “Can you not be so bossy? I haven’t even agreed to any of this yet.”

“So what do you want, then? You don’t want to get back together, you don’t want to move in with me, and you don’t want me moving in here either.

“Either way, I have to keep an eye on you and the baby. What if you faint again and no one is around? I just can’t let that happen,” Jonathan insisted.

Teresa bit her lip, thinking, ‘Maybe he only cares about the baby now. If I weren’t pregnant, there’s no way things would have thawed between us.‘ She took a deep breath. “I can take care of myself. Just come by when you have time. That’s enough.”

“No way,” Jonathan said firmly. “If you won’t let me move in, then when Miriam gets back, I’ll settle things with her.”
