Chapter 15
“Wake up!”
Arabella slapped him.
Zackary’s face was skewed from being hit, and his hand that was holding her waist tightened even more, forcing her to
press against him.
“What are you hiding for? Weren’t you treating me like this before?”
His hoarse voice carried with it unwillingness and grievance.
Arabella’s mind instantly became clear.
Seeing Arabella, he rarely showed embarrassment. “I… didn’t have the key.”
Zackary’s rationality and sensibility were torn apart.
I apologize.
If you don’t apologize now, you may not have the chance anymore.
Ryan’s mockery came in waves, but he only remembered one sentence. “If you push her further, she will run even farther.”
With a brief distraction, Arabella’s trial had already concluded.
“Go out.”
“Arabella…”
“Or I called the police.”
Her decisiveness forced his sensitivity to retreat.
Zackary stepped back, retreating to the door, and stepping out of Arabella’s boundaries.
Arabella washed her face with cold water.
She stared at herself in the mirror, and the previous exhaustion began to show again.
One month was still too short.
She couldn’t face Zackary confidently yet.
Arabella packed her luggage overnight and rushed to the airport with a sleepy Daisy.
Before dawn, I took two flights and arrived at a more secluded town.
This time, she got a year’s respite.
Zackary did not come.

Only Ryan would send celebrity photos. It was he who traveled around different countries, hosting various events.
Arabella devotedly nurtured Daisy, rejecting the friendly gestures of the surrounding neighbors.
I had been away from Zackary for a whole year and a half.
This was the second Christmas that Arabella and Daisy spent alone.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
She was decorating the Christmas tree with Daisy when the doorbell rang.
Thinking it was a delivery; I opened it without any precautions.
The person in front of her made her feel as if she were in a dream.
“Arabella.”
Zackary’s breath came out as white vapor.
It has been a year and a half since we last met, and his features have become even more profound, with a hint of stubble
appearing on his lips.
Arabella instinctively tried to close the door, but he grabbed hold of the door frame.
“Give me ten minutes.”
He lowered his head and took out a small file bag from his pocket, handing it to Arabella.
“What you wanted. I gave it to you.”
Arabella could vaguely discern what was inside.
She did not open it and nodded, “Is there anything else?”
“Is there… nothing you wanted to say to me?”
“Merry Christmas?”
“…Arabella, I beg you, take a look.”
His eyes were filled with pleading, and his tone was humble.
Arabella was struck by lightning; she had never seen him so dignified and noble before.
He opened the file bag with his eager eyes.
It was a signed divorce agreement, a divorce certificate, and three graduation photos.
Whether awkward, shy, or mature.
In the photo, she was searching for his figure.

Some were deliberately stuck on the sidelines of the court, waiting for him to appear in the frame, capturing that moment
of being in the same frame.
A long-hidden secret was so blatantly exposed.
Arabella’s touched moment instantly turned into hurt.
“What do you want to say? Prove that I still like you?”
The light in her eyes dimmed quickly, so she decided to open the door and took out her graduation photo, casually
throwing it into the fireplace.
The flames blazed brightly, then vanished into nothingness.
Along with her nine years of unrequited love, it was buried in the warmth of winter.
Zackary didn’t even have time to reach out his hand, and he watched helplessly as his precious photos turned into ashes.
“You…”
