Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1582

"What do you mean?" Katie asked, her expression twisted in confusion.

"My business card," Daniel replied coldly. "Thanks for the reminder; my cards aren't cheap, so it's best not to waste them."

"You—" Katie felt a rush of embarrassment and anger, stomping her foot in frustration.

"Miss, it's just a business card. Surely you wouldn't try to take advantage of something so trivial, would you?" Daniel's voice dripped with sarcasm, recalling how he had just been misled.

"Who's taking advantage here?" Katie exclaimed, seizing the bait.

She took out the business card and threw it at him. "Here! It's just a card, not made of gold. Do you really think I'd be so petty as to desire something so insignificant?"

"Let's hope so," Daniel replied, catching the card.

He wiped it clean and handed it to Helen with both hands. "Ma'am, I sincerely hope we can be friends. If you agree, I'll cover all your expenses for the trip to Ameridia."

"How can I refuse?" Helen said, accepting the card with a smile and shaking his hand.

With Kaylee's identity, she could safely give birth abroad while leaving Katie behind.

As Katie glared at their clasped hands, frustration boiled within her. "This is madness—utter madness! What kind of 'renowned pianist' shows such favoritism to someone who can't even carry a tune? It's absurd!"

"Enough!" Abraham shouted, unwilling to let Katie sabotage such a valuable opportunity. "If you can't accept your shortcomings and learn from others, I swear I'll disown you as my daughter!"

"I… Hmph!" Katie bit her lip, feeling wronged but reluctant to say anything more. She shot a glance at Helen, resentment brewing in her eyes.

Abraham had never used such a harsh tone with her before. Today, he publicly humiliated her for the sake of "Kaylee". All of it was because of her—that cunning woman.

Spotting her chance, Katie pushed forcefully against Helen's back with both hands. However, Helen suddenly sidestepped, effortlessly avoiding the attack. Caught off balance, Katie lost her footing and tumbled down the stairs.

By the time everyone realized what had happened, they found Katie sprawled awkwardly between the second and third floors, her head pressed to the ground and her body in an inverted position.

The hem of her skirt had flipped up, exposing everything beneath.

Helen observed the scene with a calm demeanor, her expression betraying no emotion. It was a stark reminder that attempts to harm others often resulted in self-inflicted consequences.

Several foreign onlookers politely averted their gazes.

Abraham rushed forward, his face flushed with anger as he took in Katie's humiliating position.

What a disgraceful display!
