Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1557

After dropping Helen off, Isabelle drove straight to Oakwood Sanatorium, the most notorious psychiatric hospital in the country.

It wasn't known for its success in treating mental illness but for being the largest asylum in the nation. Whether or not someone was genuinely ill, spending a month here was bound to drive anyone to madness.

When Isabelle found Jason, he was curled up in a corner of his room. His hair was a tangled mess, completely stripped of the polished demeanor he once had.

Trapped in a straitjacket, his movements were severely restricted, and his only way to fend off others was through his frantic howling.

The floor was littered with spilled food, and the foul odor forced Isabelle to cover her nose.

Avoiding the repulsive mess, she stepped closer to Jason. "Jason? Get up, we need to go!" she called, fighting back her nausea.

Jason was visibly agitated, pressing himself against the wall. "I'm not Jason! Don't give me any injections! I'm nobody—don't touch me! Ah!"

Isabelle rolled her eyes in exasperation and bent down, delivering a sharp slap to his face. "Are you awake now?"

In an instant, Jason fell silent, staring at her in surprise. His eyes brightened as he flicked aside his tangled hair, recognizing Isabelle. With a surge of energy, he stood up.

"Isabelle, you finally came!" he exclaimed, instinctively reaching out to hug her. But the straitjacket restrained him, causing him to wobble awkwardly instead.

Isabelle stepped back, waving her hand in front of her nose. "Quit stalling! We need to get out of here—this awful place is giving me goosebumps!"

With that, she turned and made her way toward the exit.

Jason hurried to keep up with her.

"I've got nothing left." Jason sighed, feeling helpless. "If it weren't for Kaylee, I wouldn't be in this mess. As for my feelings for her, I'm done. You're my only hope now."

"We're in the same boat, so you can't distance yourself from this," Isabelle said, her striking eyes narrowing with a sly gleam. "Fortunately, she still trusts me for now, which gives us time to plan."

"Since we're this deep in, why not just…" Jason suggested, mimicking a slicing motion across his throat.

"Not yet," Isabelle replied, her expression turning serious as she exhaled deeply. "We'll wait until after she has the baby. After all, we've wronged her—we can't be entirely heartless."

"You're too soft," Jason scoffed, secretly resolving to take matters into his own hands.

If he had dealt with Kaylee earlier, he wouldn't be facing so many complications now. This time, he was determined to resolve the issue once and for all.
