Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1558

In the VIP room of Regalia Restaurant, Jenson stood in front of a full-length mirror, making final adjustments to his outfit.

The mirror emanated a soft pink glow, accentuating pink champagne, balloons, and playful Hello Ducky decorations, with corners brimming with robot models and gaming collectibles.

Twinkling fairy lights adorned the room, adding to its enchanting, dreamlike ambiance.

As Jenson surveyed the scene, a smirk spread across his lips. The white suit he wore shimmered with a golden hue, making him feel particularly radiant in his reflection.

He held a bouquet of yellow roses, inhaling their fragrance with a satisfied smile. Tonight was bound to be a success.

Just then, the sound of high heels clicked on the floor outside.

Jenson quickly leaned against the wall, striking a flamboyant pose with his back to the door. As the door clicked open, he spun around, roses in hand. "Surprise! …M-Marie?"

His enthusiasm vanished at the sight of her. "What are you doing here? Where's Germaine?"

Marie appeared visibly uneasy. "You canceled on the client, so I informed Ms. Lloyd. She agreed to take your place and asked me to join you and Mr. Cody for dinner. Didn't you get the memo?"

"If I had known, do you think I'd be standing here like this?" Jenson huffed. He clutched the bouquet in one hand, his other hand on his hip, struggling to keep a smile on his face.

Mary raised an eyebrow, hesitant to respond. She quickly shifted the subject to deflect Jenson's frustration. "When did Regalia Restaurant get such poor taste? This decor looks like something out of a cheesy love motel—so tacky…"

"But Mr. Newton, we haven't even started eating yet!" Marie protested.

"I'm too angry to eat!" Jenson yelled back, storming off in a huff.

He couldn't pinpoint what was fueling his anger—was it his own foolishness in arranging a setup filled with things that would totally turn off any woman?

Or was it that Germaine was so focused on work that she seemed entirely uninterested in their date?

Perhaps he was just frustrated with himself for feeling defeated by her yet again.
