"Thank you, Mr. Newton." Katie was eager for it.
Thus, Chandler left Arabella behind and took Katie to the lounge in front of everyone.
In the distance, Taylor saw this and found it strange. "What's wrong with Mr. Newton recently?"
"What else could it be? He's just in heat. Men are all scum." Abigail was infuriated.
"Hey, you can say that about him, but don't drag me in. I'm an innocent, pure young man," Taylor said helplessly.
Abigail rolled her eyes at him and didn't respond. Her expression grew darker as she stared at the back of Katie's head.
Wasn't that woman Kaylee's younger sister? The woman had previously hired someone to cause trouble at Kaylee's signing event and had spoken ill of Kaylee behind her back.
This kind of woman didn't deserve to pursue the man of Abigail's best friend. Abigail wouldn't allow the woman to go from rags to riches.
At the thought of this, Abigail walked in the direction they had left.
"Hey, where are you going?" Taylor called out twice, but she didn't respond, so he could only follow her.
…
Ursula's lipstick had faded after socializing with a few people, so she went to the restroom alone to touch up her makeup before heading back out.
As she turned a corner, Adrian rushed out and pulled her aside. He pinned her against the wall and suddenly kissed her.
He was tired of pretending to be indifferent, and he was fed up with the torment of being unable to see or touch her when she was just right in front of him.
He had personally delivered her the invitation card. He was even ready to let go of the past and ask her to get back together today, yet she was there with another man, displaying their affection in front of him.
"I never belong to anyone. After so many years, you still see things one-sidedly. You're always so full of yourself." Ursula's beautiful eyes became misty, and her messy bangs scattered across her forehead. She looked broken entirely.
"Yes, I'm full of myself. That's why I was so confident that you really loved me and believed everything you said. And what happened? You left for four years.
"What do you really think of me? Your first love, your boyfriend, or just a toy you could easily throw away?"
Adrian lost his usual calm and composure. Mentioning the past brought to mind the image of a young man running painfully in the rain; just one more glance at him would make one's heart ache.
