Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1516

"Hello," Claude said, trying to sound composed. "I see you've made it."

Helen nodded gently, her brow furrowing slightly in a display of vulnerability.

Seeing her like this melted Claude's heart. How could someone so young wear such a frown? Was she being mistreated by the Terzians?

"I've always known Abraham was trouble. After pushing my daughter to her breaking point, he now dares to bully my granddaughter. Just wait; I'll make him pay!" he thought.

Just as Claude was about to comfort "Kaylee", Katie cut in, "Hey Kaylee, don't you have any manners? Can't you even say 'happy birthday' to Grandpa?"

Over the past two years, Kaylee and Claude had become so estranged that they hadn't exchanged a single word. Meanwhile, Katie flourished in the Haywell family, fully embracing her role as Claude's cherished granddaughter.

Katie's voice dripped with sarcasm as she leaned in closer, whispering conspiratorially into Claude's ear, "Grandpa, you might not be aware, but Kaylee is pregnant!"

Claude's white eyebrows shot up in disbelief.

How could this happen? Who would dare mistreat his precious Kaylee?

Wait a minute… If this were true, wouldn't that mean he was about to become a great-grandfather?

Claude was caught between joy and concern, leaving him momentarily uneasy.

Sensing his rising anger, Katie pressed on boldly, "I can't believe Kaylee would be so brazen as to get pregnant by some random man! She's completely tarnished the reputations of both the Terzian and Haywell families!"

"What did you say?" Claude snapped, shaking her off. "Who do you think you are to talk about her like that? No matter her mistakes, I'll always stand by her. What right do you have to criticize her?"

Katie was momentarily stunned, tears welling in her eyes. After a long pause, she finally managed to choke out, "Grandpa, why are you speaking to me like this? Didn't you tell me to keep an eye on Kaylee? I'm just stating the truth; you're being too harsh!"

"Grandpa, I was wrong," Helen replied, dutifully admitting her mistake.

As they spoke, they stepped into the room together. Claude paused, turning to face her directly. With a deep sigh, he asked, "So, are you going to keep arguing with me in the future?"

Helen sniffled and replied, "No more arguing. I promise!"

Claude shot her a playful glare before adopting a protective stance. "You should have said that sooner! Come on, sit down—don't tire out my little great-granddaughter!"

Tears welled in Helen's eyes as she witnessed Claude's tender concern for Kaylee.

A wave of heartfelt joy washed over her, knowing that there were still people in the world who cherished Kaylee. It was a bittersweet realization that Kaylee would never be there to see it for herself.
